So is anyone genuinely afraid of stop motion? Why does it creep you out?
I have a cousin who cant watch stop motion because she gets scared of it.
Post stopmotions that terrify you.

Stop motion doesn't get me as much as creepy cgi does.
I guess it's because with stop motion the laws of physics are still there, with cgi any number of horrible things can happen.

Decent tune.
Stop motion animation doesn't bother me that much.
>>87088336
I have been unnaturally terrified of certain aspects of stop-motion and cgi for as long as i could remember.
>>87088380
What the hell?
>>87088720
Pretty neat as it was the first stopmotion animation.
>>87088807
Why does it scare you?

TOMAAAATO
>>87088841
I don't know really, usually just uncanny Valley combined with the fact it's an actual thing that exists unlike a cartoon, i should mention that it's only bad cgi that creeps me out.

What is this from?
It's all about the fps. With very well worked stop motion it can be impossible to tell apart from regular movement.
Less frames by move equals unatural movement, great for disturbing scenes. An example is the Vermilion part 1 videoclip by Slipknot.

I think it depends on the quality. I love Coraline, but it's not the stop-motion itself that gives me chills.
Now those old Christmas specials? Something about the stiff unnatural movements made them scare me as a kid.

By all that is holy why do you have this video and imagery on standby?
>>87089122
I didn't save the image.
As for the video, it's just one of those things that exists that I remember although knowledge of the subject is seldom ever relevant. It's been around for years and I have no idea how I know of it in the first place; it never was that big of a thing.
Hello, children.

I actually found that kind of charming.
>>87089223
A classic.
>>87089156
Fair enough.
I just feel mildly uncomfortable right now.
Anyone remember that wacky claymation that was basically the Magic School Bus with Satan?

The mysterious stranger segment from The Adventures of Mark Twain. One of the best animated films ever.
>>87089448
I liked it. The ending was sad. :(

A small part of me wonders whether Kubo and the Two Strings was too good, to the point where I can't distinguish its stop-motion from well-done CGI.
I think it's the nostalgia goggles.

I didn't know what to expect the Sandman to do. Neat stuff. I like the bird-like design.

Foxed! gave me the willies in an eerily depressive sort of way.

I hope Laika does horror again someday.

Pepe's dance at 3:48 is so kawaii.
how do y'all feel about crackers and snacks?
this shit creeps me out

the mom and daughter are great voice actors but the foxes are complete shit somehow

>So is anyone genuinely afraid of stop motion?
I am, nothing in film creeps me out more. But mostly if it's interspersed with live action humans like in Beetlejuice or Jason and the Argonauts. 100% stop motion like Nightmare Before Christmas doesn't spook me.
Just watched Bobby Yeah.
Literally the most horrifying thing I have ever seen.

Mabel you know the rules. Tits or GTFO.
In terms of scariness, I don't think anyone can beat the brothers Quay.

Not particularly creepy, but Yuri Norstein is worthy of mention for having partially inspired the trippy Witch Barriers from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

IMO it's less the scariness of stop motion but instead stop motion is the go to for scary animation,
