If you could only read either Marvel or Dc comics, which would you choose and why?
>>87082885
I really love Daredevil and I really love DC. That's a tough one.
DC is far better right now and has historically released better-written stuff, so that.
>>87083097
An entire comic company vs a single character. Should probably go for the larger option.
>>87082885
DC. But ONLY because of Vertigo and Hellblazer.
I strongly prefer Marvel's capeshit.
I would give up both to keep Image.
>>87083447
Didn't add it, but yes, imprints count
>>87082885
There is not one good Marvel comic. DC all the way.
>>87082885
DC. Even excluding Marvel's recent shenanigans, DC has always seemed like the better company when it came to the really good stories.
Marvel for life, son
>>87082885
Previously, Marvel.
Amazing Spider-Man had rotating writers and it was awesome.
Avengers: The Initiative
New Avengers Vol. 1
Brubaker Captain America
Bendis/Brubaker Daredevil
Thunderbolts by Ellis
Miss Marvel
This was a golden age. Now it's DC all the way because Marvel isn't catering to my interests any more. I realize not all comics have to cater to me, but the ratio of shit to decent in current Marvel is abysmal.
>>87082885
They're just better in general.
Marvel just hasn't been good to me for a pretty good while now.
DC, I enjoy their characters and universe more overall
>>87084083
Huh, wasn't aware that pic was a jpg. This should be better.
Op here, I would of chosen Dc
Both are shit.
>>87082885
Only Marvel comic right now that I'm following is Gwenpool.
Besides that I'm just way more invested in DC's universe as a whole.
DC without a question.
>>87082885
Marvel, DC just doesn't manage to get me wondering what happens next, and everytime it nearly does the plot point gets dropped anyway
>>87083800
>but yes, imprints count
Marvel so I can get everything published under Epic
DC 4 lyfe cuh
All this DC love makes me happy.
>>87082885
DC, they have much better classic stories
I already read only DC.

There was a time when I would've said Marvel, hands down.
The past year or two completely annihilated train of thought.
Marvel, there are more characters that I love in that universe and I've read more comics from them that I haven enjoyed opposed to DC. Mind you I like DC too, it's just I have more Marvel on my shelf at home.
>>87082885
If you care about diversity and making the world a better place then Marvel is the only choice.
Marvel has a number of characters I like, DC has a few characters I love. I'd go with DC.
In the last issues Barry showered at superspeed, how does that work? The water still comes out of the shower at the same rate, you'd use it all then have to wait for more. Can he impart speedforce into things? If so why did the flowers he got for Jessica disintegrate when he ran too fast?
>>87082885
DC.
I like stories and characters. I would really be driven to frustration with the stories I'm reading being rebooted every year and such a lack of continuity.
Marvel has spectacular art, but I don't really give a shit about art so there's that too.
>>87087632
Haven't read the issue, but I guess he would use the speed for soaping himself and putting shampoo in his hair?
Either that or comic logic.
>>87082885
Archie
>>87087811
Fuck, I posted in the wrong god damn thread again.
I figured the answer would be 'speedforce'.
I'd have to go marvel.
Although DC has the better comics right now, that won't last forever and I am more attached to the characters at Marvel.
Also, I won't have to be afraid of the inevitable DC reboots.
Been into marvel for much longer, but I've prefered DC the last couple years
So marvel
I think in the long run, Marvel has better consistency while DC has greater highs.
I'm really not a big fan of runs that are "good if you're a fan" and would rather read the great stuff. So I gotta make mine DC in this case.
all of 60s and 70s Marvel is way better than what DC was putting out during that same time frame... 80s is when Marvel started to go downhill but it had gold like Byrne FF, Claremont X-Men, Miller DD, DeMatteis Spidey etc.
You can really tell where things shifted when you compare Crisis with Secret Wars...
I love Marvel but DC just puts out better books now and has better creative talent. Marvel was king but hasn't been since mid 2000s... there was a renaissance when Ultimate Spider-Man was new, Brubaker was on Cap, Morrison was on X-Men, and Greg Pak made Hulk A list again... now all of Marvel is shit Bendis like it or not made the Avengers great and relevant again but they fucked the entire lineup repeatedly with too many damn events, Spider-Man is boring trash now, X-Men is nothing more than an advertisement for the dumb Inhumans book some idiots in suits want to force us to like because they have movie rights for it and want it to be the next big thing like GotG.
>>87088187
>Also, I won't have to be afraid of the inevitable DC reboots.
>I'd have to go marvel.
BAHAHAHAHA
>>87082885
DC. New Marvel is worthless and I've more or less read all the classic marvel already
>>87087062
Replacing old characters with ethnic versions of themselves doesn't really help with diversity, though. I like what DC is doing with New-Superman and Green Lanterns. Giving the ethnic minority characters their own comics that involve themes from their culture is so much better than just slapping new faces on to old characters
DC for me, like the world building and how the characters relate to each other.
I feel like Marvel would benefit from having X-men and Marvel superheroes in a different universe.
Also Modern Marvel is completely awful. While DC and Marvel both have great stories in the past.
>>87082885
DC. They crafted most of the stories I would consider to be legendary and I love the multiverse too much to give it up.
DC for sure.
>that multiverse
>everything ever from vertigo
>superman
>lanterns are my favorite comic characters
>best waifus
>best villains by a landslide
>best elseworlds
>best events
DC did it first and better.
I already voted so don't count this post.
Personally I just find DC much more memorable. It's hard to beat Supes and Batman for name recognition. Even without the comics I loved BTAS, JLU, and Batman Beyond.
Not saying Marvel is bad or anything like that, but it just seems like they're turning their back on what made them great in the first place.
>>87082885
Johnsfag reporting live. Of course I'll pick DC
Almost all the characters I like are DC so that's that.
>>87082885
Marvel. I just don't give a shit about most of DC's characters, and both companies have had their ups and downs in quality. Marvel will inevitably get better. DC will inevitably get worse. It's the way of things.
My first comic was DC comic and my last comic will probably be a DC comic.
Although, I would miss some new Marvel characters that I really enjoy like Kamala and Robbie.
If Imprints count, DC easily curbstomps.
>>87082885
DC
They have the added benefit of Vertigo, Young animal and Wildstorm.Besides, current DC is great while current Marvel sucks balls.

DC because I pretty much only read DC these days
DC famalam. I love Marvel's older stuff but DC has always had a special place on my shelves.
>>87086331
Nice fanart, faggot.
DC because I like reading about actual heroes. Marvel's spend most of their time fighting each other, being hated by the public or complaining about their lives. Plus DC's got objectively better stories.
>>87082885
Marvel. Even if they're comics arent great atm, I far prefer their characters.
