I bet they did animate it, with the Legends of the Hidden Temple movie, Hey Arnold Jungle Movie, and that Rocko TV Movie coming out, they're pulling a lot of stops. They already had the audio and storyboards so it should be just fine, depending on if they used Flash. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

I watched As Told by Ginger a few times when I was younger but it was never a favorite of mine, will still try to see what airs.

Are they promoting it yet? I just see Kablam commercials for this weekend. Maybe after this passes?

I'd argue that CN is just as desperate, which is why they're resurrecting shit like PPG with the lowest quality imaginable. At least Nick is trying to fix themselves, CN is taking the exact opposite direction. The problem is that current daytime CN is very clearly pushing towards the children market after the success of Teen Titans Go, so especially as they phase out more of their millenial oriented shows like AT, RS, and Gumball, it will be stranger and stranger to just switch their target audience on a dime at 8 pm.

Splat works so well because Nicktoons in general has a huge side market of nostalgia without even doing anything outside of their mission statement.

It's sad that they'll probably cut out when they refer to each other as other characters from other shows, like Dagget calling Norbert "Salem" from Sabrina. They'll most likely let the voice actor names slide but I don't think they will with the other thing.

It was just a little later than successful first wave than full-grown adults have the most nostalgia for. It also wasn't merchandised all that much at the time, in favor of Rugrats, Wild Thornberrys, and CatDog. I don't think it was inherently unmarketable (after all Ren & Stimpy merch was absolutely nuts at its height, Adventure Time is nothing in comparison), they just didn't really try.

Their dynamic has changed anyway for 4th wall stuff. Besides, this is going to air very late for nostalgia viewers only. Kids watch at night sure but they only talk about this block being for grown up fans.

That's how Nick rolls with SpongeBob, plus they took a large production gap between the two halves of the season to make the second movie.
That kind of scheduling is not unprecedented in children's programming, though. SU and GF fans don't have it as hard as they think. You should check out the gaps in Ed Edd n Eddy's airdates. As bad as Disney, though they had the excuse of having a perfectionist and classic style of production that made it take longer to produce (including having to draw those shaky outlines)
