Hey /co/, what would be some good trades to birthday-gift to a qt nerd girl that doesn't read comics, has someSJW-esque opinions, but could be interested in reading something?
pic related seems like a good start.
How old is she? Ms Marvel is fun but might be too kiddish.
Young Avengers vol. 2, the one by Gillen. It's pretty shit most of the time but most Tumblr people who have read it love it.

I got a Tumblresque friend onto comics with Fraction's Hawkeye.
Hawkeye by Fraction/Aja.
A lot of people that never read comics started with this and liked it, you don't need extensive knowledge of the Marvel Universe, stars a character she might know from the movies and it seems like a popular comic with girls.

It might be ok for her but consider something like Batwoman Elegy too. Has a bit of a more mature presentation in case that's more her thing.

It's also good for first time readers because it doesn't get derailed by events/crossovers. The story is also finished, so that's a plus too.

Gotham Academy if she wants a breezy fun book. Most characters in this book are either original or they're cameos so it doesn't matter if she doesn't recognize them.
The Books of Magic by Neil Gaiman if she wants something with a little more substance. It doesn't matter if she doesn't recognize the characters, since this is supposed to be an introduction to them.
