Rob Renzetti worked on a bunch of cartoon network shows, like dexter's lab and samurai jack. He was even Genndy Tartakovsky's roommate at calarts. That's probably why it had that thick lines style like dexter's lab. Also before MLaaTR, Rob did 6 pilot episodes of a show called Mina and the Count, which switched from one network to another.
