Most characters only develop a supporting cast in solo books.
DC has had more female solo books over the years, Marvel has had most of their prominent female characters on team books.

so Marvel female heroes are more romantically linked to other heroes, because thats who they interact with.
DC female heroes get solo stories, so they date non-heroes.
