What's sad is that I know a couple of people who work on this show and it's their first animation industry job. And at first I was happy for them and still am because they get to work at CN studios which is fucking rad, but once the shit threads started appearing nonstop from /co/ to Tumblr to Reddit to ToonZone and even fucking CartoonBrew, I kind of felt bad for them that most of their work was boiled down to "Cancel this show".

And I'm not saying keep nuPPG just so my friends can have jobs, I just feel bad because this is their first storyboarding job and the only people they can celebrate that with are the crew who work on it.

I also know one guy who works on TTG and often people who work at a studio but on a shitty show are asked more job inquiry questions rather than going, "Wow! You work on ____?" like the SU and Gravity Falls crew got.

They laugh at it or shrug it off because they know it's out of their control at that stage. If they could go back and fix animation errors and had all the program files, they would, but that would re-quire a LOT of re-rendering on an already short schedule and it just really doesn't allow for it, even though episodes are done for months in advance.

For anyone who hasn't worked in animation, people are well aware of errors. There's usually a dedicated person who goes through episode frame-by-frame and teams will end up looking at a single shot dozens of times during production and while some mistakes are simply missed, a lot of the time, mistakes are due to render errors that may have been noticed long after a shot has been rendered and there just simply isn't enough time to re-open the file, fix the mistake, re-render that shot, and then re-render it with the entire episode.

Then factor in that the majority of the time these shows are being made by Rough Draft Studios who have hundreds of projects on their hands and simply can't afford to be anal about every single show and every single frame and yes, these studios DO have a priority list for their shows. FOX ones that have the big money like Simpsons are given top priority. Flagship shows like Gravity Falls and Adventure Time have more focus put into them but still a couple of errors get by.

Then there are shows that are given less focus, like SU, PPG, Bare Bears, Uncle Grandpa. The reason PPG most likely has the most errors is because CN probably treats it more like shit and are being super stingy with their time and money while things like SU and Uncle Grandpa actually have some of the board artists doing a lot of keyframes which eases the workload. PPG boards are more traditional where they are putting a LOT of trust in the overseas animators.

Also most overseas animators don't give a shit, they're more concerned with meeting deadlines than perfect quality.

That's the thing though, who knows how long those toys have been with those kids, may have been before nuPPG got aired. And it's not that buying classic brand PPG stuff is being a thing that gives CN the money, no, it's the point of even going for nuPPG brand stuff specifically that might make for a bottleneck in costs to manufacture them when no one even buys them, just off the older merch. It's kinda like TMNT, not once do I see any of the 2003 Turtles in any of these stores (my store for a relevent example) and there's only the recent one, no brainer, but the 80s TMNT has merch too, and a hell of a lot of it too. I guess that could be do to the Nick show owning the rights to the 80s one (hence all the references to that version literally everywhere in the new show) so I guess that's why. But both brands are getting bought, while nuPPG specifically might not be, enough to make it worth making for, for much longer, I guess.

That's the thing though, from those early shots of the show, it was interpreted to be based like it was going the same direction the original TT went behind, even animated the same, only for it to turn into the "comedic shit" it is now, which said people that well received it didn't actually want. Hence why all the hate for the show's existence now, it's not want old fans wanted, period. And it was pretty bad to advertise what you thought something would be, only for it to be different shit to you in the end. This is kinda like nuPPG, the Dance Pantsed special was the first reboot, and then CN got newbie animators to make the reboot we got now.
