Looks a lot more like the HS sprite style, though I can't help but notice the difference in art styles between the animated portions and rendered backdrops.

old adventure game problem though, might help with the puzzles I guess. that striking animation with the flashlight was pretty sweet though. not sure about the walking animation.

I agree with the assessment that the animation is choppy, however, I think the individual frames are very expressive and evoke Hussie's style pretty well. I think this is just a case where they need to make more in-between frames to smooth it out.

Why didn't Hussie kickstart the game after the comic ended?

There would never have been a hiatus, the fandom wouldn't have died and still been going strong off the ending, he would have been able to channel the thirst for more Homestuck material into mad cash.

I feel like the Homestuck Kickstarter happening when it did will be looked back on as one of the worst business decisions in webcomics.

He was actually smart about this. There would have had to be multiple pauses even without production of the game and the fanbase would have diminished over time as we saw them do during everything after ministrife.

He made the Kickstarter when the fanbase was at MAXIMUM OVERLOAD and if someone curious about the comic from the kickstarter were to happen to click to the last page they would see a 2 hour interactive game.

If he'd waited until the comic was over we'd have a conclusion and closure (of some sort, the ending lacked a good amount of it, but at least it was an ending) and be less hype about additional content.

It would have been nice if previous pages had featured cameos of the future Felt battle, though. Like, it would have been great if those panels were Jake is shooting at nothing because he was bored were actually panels of Jake already fighting the Felt.

I feel your disappointment because I love the Felt, but understand that they're a very minor part of the comic and that they played a role way higher than they deserve in Collide, so I was very happy with everything involving the Felt happening there (and honestly, their shenanigans are what made that animation as good and Homestucky as it is).
