In the comic and cartoon Barry decides to undo Flashpoint because it turns out that Barry "time traveled like an amateur", causing a "time boom" that fucked up everyone. That shit is retarded

In the tv version, Barry realizes how selfish he was by causing Flashpoint, and works to undo it. Barry rewrote the world into his dream version, then spent 3 months fucking around and leaving the hero work to someone else. He didn't even care to investigate who Kid Flash might be, what if there were another lunatic like "Jay Garrick"? And near the end Wally is dying and Barry's running out of memories, which would leave Central City defenseless against villains. The issue wasn't that Barry ruined the world, it was that he was acting like a manchild, and it was time to move past that.

Thawne lost his speed though and was trapped in the past for 15 years.

Since Thawne didn't have his connection to the Speedforce he didn't get to use it as much and lose his power. And by the time he got his powers back time had solidified.

"Flashpoint" is just time travelling. It's not something you can "do", it's not something you can "undo", it's time travel, you can't cause Flashpoint, it's a name to shill shitty poopy ass event.

Flashpoint Paradox is a dumb time travel plot that shows consequences of time travelling in extreme ways and that being selfish is selfish even if cause is technically good.

Because his accident wasn't the same as Barry's. The particle accelerator wouldn't have exploded for another 4 years or so. It was just Wally's nitro formula and lightning - so he was fast but not attuned to the Speedforce.
