>>
>>86773718
Of my personal collection, probably 4-5 long.
Including the collection I inherited from my parents of comics from 1970-1992...probably close to 20 of various sizes.

>>86773766
well a short box holds about 150-175 comics and 2 short boxes make 1 long iirc
>>
>>86773718
Honestly not that much, I have maybe 200 floppies.
>>
>>86773718
13 short, 1765 floppies in all according to my comicbookdb.

No fucking clue how many floppies. A LOT. That's not even counting six shelves of GNs and trades. Send help.
>>
>>86773718
Uhhhh, less than one short box so far. To be fair I just started buying this year.
>>
Three dresser drawers.
I need to get a longbox.

Well funny story on that. I buy back issues from a comic shop who sells me damaged/worn comics for about 100 around 10 bucks .. do i have good deal, or am i getting scamed?
>>
>>86774626
10 cents a comic??? How damaged are these?
>>
>>86774626
Where do you live? I may have to move there and spend a few thousand dollars.

I'm curious if you buy trades that collect the same single issues you have as well or do you only buy trades of things you don't read in single issue. Are you proud of your collection? How often do you open the boxes back up and re-read your comics? I don't like to bag and board my comics because I feel like once I put a piece of tape on the flap, i never take them out again. I like to have them without the bag and board because it inspires me to pick up random issues and flip through them again. I don't collect to sell. I just collect things I enjoy.
>>
>>86773718
I have 4 long 2 short
Also, good to finally see a thread about comic collecting
>>
I have 4 short.

entire bookcases of trades though
>>
>>86774722
Christ, at 10 cents, I'm expecting the cover to be torn or something. You've got a fantastic deal there.
>>
>>86774725
I just don't tape them down for this very reason.
>>
I'm an utter newfag to collecting. I have a whopping 13 comics and 12 trades in my possession.

G-gotta start somewhere, right?

Do any of you ever look at all your boxes and feel guilty for spending so much money? Or atleast regret buying certain series you didn't like as much as you thought? I grew up with parents that had to save a lot of money so sometimes I feel bad if I'm not as careful with what I buy. I usually only have about 5 titles on my pull list. My absolute top 5 favorites... but that's just me because I'm not the richest guy. Also, the boxes take up space.

its just scotch tape. easily replaced.

I don't normally open the long box because I am shit at organizing and the boxes can get fucking heavy. they can be a real hassle.

i will only get a tpb of something i collect if i really fucking love it and or its really cheap. digital is a great convenience.

>>86774855
don't make the same mistakes I did

bag and board right away if you want to organize them. DO NOT LET THEM PILE UP LIKE I DO
>>
>>86774725
>>86774803
Taping it isn't permanently sealing it.
Just retape it lmao.

Good to know im not being ripped off. I usely get 100 to 150 differnt comics every 2 weeks. Comics age from 70s to comics that came out this week. Only bad thing is its totaly random
>>
>>86774725
Most of my floppies are old cheap comics that are either cheaper than trades or will never be collected in trades. I don't buy new floppies, there is almost no overlap between my floppies and my trades. I will bust them out for rereads but it is definitely a pain in the ass.
>>
21 long
1 short (current indie books)

Plus this hardwood bookshelf-like storage my fiance made me last year. Equivalent to about four more longboxes in storage (each row might be a bit shorter than a longbox, but not by much).

Most of my stuff is in bags at least. I need to buy some extras. Boards too. Atm I just have them in a small magazine box like pic.

I look forward to moving up to a short box though.
>>
Just out of curiosity, where does everyone keep all their boxes. No doubt they take up plenty of room.

Three long boxes full of every single appearance of Ghost rider (Ketch, Blaze) from full series, guest appearances, cameos. If ghostie is in I have it
>>
>>86774942
I suppose you could always sell some of the ones you don't care for in a worst case scenario.
>>

wow
fucking pleb casual normie scum

commit or die

don't collect robbie though
>>
I only recently started collecting single issues, I prefer trades and collected volumes, I have near 1 full long box because my pal traded his comic box to me for a pair of old paint ball guns. He had a shit ton of Waypool (which I was able to see for over a hundred bucks), and Amazing Spider-Man starting at Big Time. Beyond that, I now have a year long collection of floppies I've been getting from my lcs to help support the store.

>>
>>86775488
Good thing you labled your longbox.
>>
>>86775847
Yeah i enjoy most of them. Got some good books out it like the a near full run of 70s nova and 1st 5 issues of nextwave
>>
>>86775895
oh damn those are some good issue, well them im really glad :)
>>
>>86773718
6 boxes full, at least a thousand comics. 50 or so of which are from the late 60's-early 80's. Looking to sell them, which is difficult since I need to price each issue and some of them are worth a lot. No one is gonna buy them all at once.
>>
>>86775867
Before he gave the box to me, he and his wife were having a yard sale, he didn't sell much out of his box, just his new 52 Batman stuff, and I already had that in trade form, just the first two volumes though. So it was labeled before I got it haha.
>>
>>86775411
Slade really sucked , only good thing he ever did was look cool in the first Ghost rider movie.
>>
>>86773718
I'm not gonna go look but around 5 long and 10 short

>>86774725
I'll buy something I really like in trades just so I don't have to go digging around in boxes. It's been years since I pulled anything out of a box to read but I've currently got a huge backlog.

But bagging isn't just to "collect" it's to prevent deterioration and (hopefully) keep out bugs.
>>
>>86774942
It seems like a lot of money over time but if it wasn't comics I probably would have spent it on something else.

>>86775297
It's cute that you think that.
>>
>>86775272
In my bedroom in between my bedside table and my 2nd bookshelf. I also keep some of my wargame cases in the same spot.
