Who ready for Broken Negan, next issue? I'm getting worried about him. Seeing a vulnerable side to him would be fun to experiment with I guess but I really wish Kirkman would tone the character down for others to get their chance to shine, even while he was in prison doing nothing he was still awesome but it's basically becoming Negan: The Comic now at this point. I do like the character just wish he would take a backseat for a while.

You know what really bothers me, though?

Nobody uses bicycles.

I mean, it's cool that horses are a thing now, since pretty much all the cars would have flat batteries with no way to charge them and gas would have gone bad, and how farming and hunting is now a necessity since all the canned food would be picked clean.

But why has no one ever used a bicycle in the post-apocalypse? Is it because they aren't badass?

Come to think of it, I never see anyone go fishing in TWD, which would be the best way to get food. Fish and animal populations would have skyrocketed after civilization collapses and most of the humans are dead, so it would be a hunter's paradise. Just stay away from cities, since there's no real reason groups of zombies would travel to the wilderness unless they were chasing something.

Well let me answer this one. For one a horse is much higher then a Bike, also a horse can run much faster and if trained to do so can plow through small groups of zombies.

A bike is mostly silent but it leaves you very vulnerable to being yanked off. A horses elevation will keep you a bit safer.

Of course there are pros and cons, but if it was up to me I'd rather be on a horse.

By the time petrol became scarce enough, most bikes would've been terribly rusted. You would have to spend time and effort, using specific and rare tools and parts which you'll have to find first. And you're just doing that out of hope that the bike'll be somewhat usable. You still have to maintain it.

If the chain happens to break or the tire goes flat (in the middle of zombie-infested terrain) you're going to have to repair it there and then or lug it around. Which, again, often means specialist equipment which are difficult to find, unless you live in post-apocalyptic Rotterdam. Riding a bike also burn your own calories fast if you do it all day, which is something you DON'T want to do when you're already starving and fatigued.

Horses don't have these problems. They live off of grass, which is fucking everywhere by now. They're able to come to you or flee danger. They also breed, which makes them a renewable form of transport if you invest in them. You're able to fight on top of them and if you're knocked of, they're great bait for the infected. If you're desperate, you can eat them and use their hide, bones, etc. for all kinds of useful shit with stone age tools.

tl;dr bikes are shit transportation outside of modern cosmopolitan and recreational life, totally unsuited for a survival situation.
