In my personal opinion, it's not that women can't be be funny, it's just the ones that always seem to be in the spotlight are some of the most unfunny, self-righteous, talentless cunts.

I get that most comedy is subjective but compare a male comedian to a female comedian and there is a stark difference. From my perspective, most male comedians are will to let themselves be the butt of a joke, they're willing to share experiences that everyone has, and aren't afraid of a little irrelevant humor. A lot of female comedians always bring up the fact that they're a woman and have a vag. Honestly, the few women I find funny often tend to be older, British women who aren't even comedians.

A lot of it has to do with them being in the spotlight, I think. Tina Fey was a writer on SNL for years and nobody knew who the fuck she was until she got in front of the camera. The article mentions Wendy Molyneux who nobody's heard of. It also credits Kristen Schaal for South Park, though she was a writer for just a season, while Pam Brady was a producer/consultant for over a decade.

I think the problem isn't whining that the executives need to do something about it, since they clearly won't. I think the chucklefucks who do the whining should put the spotlight on funny women, so that maybe they'll get the rub.
