I was sad to hear that WB hired a trailer house company to edit the movie. I'm interested in seeing what Ayer intended for the movie. Personally I don't think BvS extended cut added much beyond the communion scene, which is a weird scene to cut out. Suicide Squad should have been edited the way Ayer wanted and you could tell Leto was pissed alot of his scenes were cut. I'm genuinely interested to see how this changes the movie.

I think DCs biggest problem is editing. MOS, BvS and SS all had good movies hidden in there but the movies always seem to be about 30 minutes too long. In MOS the problem was somewhere in the middle and towards the end. In BvS the problem was in the beginning and abit in the middle. With SS it was mostly towards the middle and end. Regardless shaving off 30 minutes of garbage from these movies would have made some so much better. I hope WB starts letting there directors edit there own movies and Geoff Johns doesn't let them go too far with shit like MOS snapping necks or BvS making Superman look like an asshole when only Batman should appear that way.

So far MOS, BvS and SS were okay but critically hated and had some serious editing and pacing problems. The tone, music and fights were good for me but bad editing is noticeable even to a casual movie goer.

I think Wonder Woman will be DCs first hit.

In many ways it's not that surprising. Marvel started with Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Thor 1. Wonder Woman being a fusion of Thor 1 and Cap 1 of course.

I think the biggest problem was with front loading the movie with backstory, when it was apparently intended to begin in media res. The weird cut of Flagg and Enchantress setting the bomb was supposed to be revealed when Deadshot found those papers before the bar scene and stuff like that.

From what I've read it was meant to be done exactly like Deadpool was (simple story, constantly cutting back to origins,) but the studio fucked it up. Ironically the studio tried to fuck up Deadpool's editing too but ended up not doing it, and we saw that that was the right choice.
