For such a popular character, why are there so few good/popular Green Lantern books? I've only read Fear Itself, Emerald Dawn and The Rebirth ongoings. What are some of the best GL stories?
>Green Lantern vol 3 #48-> until it's finished
>King's Omega Men
>Mosaic
willworld
Fear Itself is pretty shit. There's all the stuff people already mentioned, Hard Traveling Heroes, and then just an endless supply of pretty good standard cape action, with Soule's Red Lantern, Johns era Green Lantern Corps, Rayner's era... GL have a pretty good track record, there's more popular characters like Iron Man or the Teen Titans where you're hard pressed to find 3 decent runs, nevermind great out there "limited" stuff like Willword or Mosaic.
Willworld
No Fear
Sinestro Corps War
Mosaic

The entire Johns era pre-New 52 including the Green Lantern Corps ongoing is utterly spectacular.

This. There's a literal decade of GL that is solid. There are dips but it's an amazing run starting with GL Rebirth.

Strongly agree with the second and third, the first only somewhat. Marz' run is very good, Winick's is enjoyable enough, but Raab's is pure shit and should be avoided at all costs.
Some other good stuff:
GL v3 #1-#47 is underrated goodness, Jones is a strong writer.
Wolfman's run is great if you like his style.
DeMatteis' run on the Spectre is brilliant, though it's not about Green Lantern, just Hal Jordan.
Personally I'd suggest reading Johns' run up until the end of Sinestro Corps war. That's the point where it starts falling the fuck to pieces for me.

I agree with all these
Also Neil Gaiman's Superman/Green Lantern story was great

The thing is, GL has many good stories, even many great stories, but not many iconic ones. Thus you don't have many specific TPBs that people praise; you actually have to read runs of the title.

Yeah it's unfortunate that there aren't many good standalone GL stories, and even less that are currently collected
At least Emerald Dawn I and II are getting a new collection, and there'll probably be a GL Earth One eventually that's hopefully decent
>>86659325
the problem is that besides silver age and johns almost nothing gets collected
Yeah that seems to be a problem with popular characters. Can anyone name a good Barry Allen story thats not silver age?

They're doing new collections for 90s GL, one for Marz's stuff and one with both Emerald Dawns (and it has a Vol 1 on there so hopefully they keep going with Jones' run)
>>86662532
the other problem is there are no good standalone stories, there's no GL or Flash equivalent to Batman Year One or The Hiketeia or All Star Superman, or Long Halloween, or Secret Identity, or etc.
Supergirl and Wonder Woman have been getting a lot of minis and collections now that live action stuff for them is a bigger deal, I'm kinda surprised they haven't been doing stuff like that for Flashand they will never acknowledge GL in live action again so I've given up hope there already

One of them will be teased anon. You have to have hope. I'm pretty sure one will appear in either part one or two. Real question is if they will use one of the openings.

I believe you mean no in print Flash equivalent? Because I'd definitely count Return of Barry Allen as one.
>>86664068
I suppose, but it's not easily accessible and since it's part of a larger run it's harder to give people as a starting point
>>86662532
Because all good Flash stories are Wally West's, not Barry Allen's.

You forgot Green Lantern/Green Arrow
