I don't get why people think Adventure Time is anywhere near as bad as The Simpsons, it's had its low points but that's nothing compared to something that's been either boringly mediocre or awful for 15+ years.

AT's problems are essentially attempting to live up to its own hype. it's like the most fun cartoon ever, and it doesn't restrict itself to typical episodic meaninglessness ... but that doesn't mean it should have to be uber deep either, yet everyone expects it to be. and in fairness jmoyns can't help it. he's just intrinsically like that.. if you read his comic Forming you kinda get it, but in AT it just feels fake or else it feels like it's setting things up to be what they can't be
