What's the general consensus on miles morales?
I'm new to the marvel stories and i want to start spiderman, yet I still don't know why miles is so hated by you guys.
Is it that bad?

It's called "lurk more". I know you're like 16 years old or something and have only just now heard about this site, but just hang out here for a week and you'll see posts about the very thing you're asking, this doesn't need to be a thread.
Miles has the majority of his time been written by Brian Michael Bendis his creator who /co/ (not unreasonably) hates. People can't really separate the too and Miles not getting many other writers doesn't help
He's uncle fester's mary sue who one shots all of his enemies.
Bendis speak+OHKO=I don't care

Go read and form your own opinions you fucking faggot. You're either interested in something or you're not.
His book in Ultimate Comics was good until 'EVENTS', so about #1-11 then the Roxxon arc is good so #~23-28.
Current book has been okay at best, a much better writer could have done a lot more interesting things with Miles' new situation.

Poochie tier character who's bland as hell and his creator actively tries to replace the original Spider Man with his OC

Wasted potential: the character
My only real problem with the character himself (rather than with his creator) is the fact that he's still using the name "Spider-Man." That might have been fine in the Ultimate universe, but it isn't in the main universe. It's ridiculous to see everyone going around calling this kid Spider-Man without batting an eye when the actual, original Spider-Man still exists in the same place.
I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but it really does feel like they're trying to slowly, insidiously replace Peter.

Or maybe Bendis is just clinging to the original premise of him eventually becoming the new Spider-man because that's all he has for him. Case in point, the solicits just confirmed were getting the 616 version of Miles' dad's backstory, and it look like it's going to be almost exactly like the last time they told it.
The problem is that since Miles now lives in a universe where Peter is alive and still webslinging, he will forever be in his shadow. In the long run, Peter will be the main Spider-man of 616 forever, so Miles' mission will never come to fruition.
His best bet is to either take on a new name - like Recluse or something - and become his own superhero, or star in a new book that takes place in the future.

I would say it mainly would have to do more with Bendis, given he's the one who created Miles and writes his comic. You'll hear good and bad things (mostly bad things here) about the guy depending on who you ask and which comic you discuss about.
In addition, the comics Bendis writes are usually slow paced. In Miles' case, it can take 3 issues for a day to even pass at certain times. This is lengthened more by the fact an issue only comes out typically once a month.
As a result, Miles appears a lot more in other comics than he does in his own comic so it typically appears as if there's very little development in his own character.
