So Marvel can't make a She-hulk series/movie or a Hulk series/movie. They can only use them as supporting characters in teams or other people's movies. That's why Planet Hulk is getting relegated to the B-plot in Thor: Ragnarok.

The thing is, this sounds like a complete 180 in tone. I know she had a near-death experience, but that was bullshit in the first place so it doesn't really fell good to have a character suffer radical long-term changes as a result of it. It's like someone wrote, I dunno, the Vulture brutally murdering Aunt May and then Spider-Man turns into a wall-crawling Punisher who never jokes; character development isn't development if the character turns into something unrecognizable.

Peter wouldn't shut up about how she was gonna get herself killed, so she went out and begged everyone she could to give her powers, but since she was a felon all the heroes refused.
She ended up getting actual bad luck powers from Kingpin
those powers started to try to kill Spider-Man though (by Kingpin's design), and they'd had a big messy fight, so Peter went to Dr Strange without talking to her about it and got him to remove all the bad luck wrapped around him. Since it was still connected to her, it made her powers freak out (during a fight with Sabretooth across town), but her metamorphic field or whatever managed to stabilize the fluctuating power into basic cat totem stuff. enhanced speed, strength, and acrobatic ability.


much much later, after Peter had married MJ, Peter in a moment of weakness got a guy to remove his powers, but it was a trap, and Blak Cat helped him get to the machine that did it to reverse the process. But doing so caused her to lose those powers.

So she just went out to Tinkerer and bought some cybernetic upgrades.

way way later, post OMD, she went to some schmuck or another I forget who, who also got her bad luck powers back.

the cybernetics haven't been mentioned in decades, other than her using the claws in fights, but theoretically she still has all of them

it's not a new idea at all. It's bee well established that while Hulk is what he is because Bruce has major repressed anger, Jen is more emotionally balanced apart from her low self esteem. however if something REALLY pisses jen off, she starts to resemble her cousin more. It would be much weirder if she just went through a normal grieving process that didn't effect her powers.

Knowing how these fights usually go, odds are on Carol charging off of the ambient gamma radiation all Hulk-types give off, especially when angry. If done WELL, tho', it'll just be enough to keep Carol from getting decapitated, with Jen saying something like "Oh, good...you've got just enough of a charge so I don't have to pull my punches" or something.

Being Hulk has never been much about fame and a lot about anger, violence, guilt, and isolation. Being She-Hulk has always tended towards angry lawyering, violent sex, fun and breaking the 4th wall.

If they declare this to be a Hulk book, then explain the above, I don't think they want her to take Bruce's place, but to fill his type of arc as Marvel has a ton of cute, funny books and Cho will be about walking the fine line in a mostly fun way.
