Depends, post-redemption or pre-redemption? Because pre-redemption it would be an unstable hate-kind of fusion, Jasper wouldn't really be able to hold any of Pearl's insecurities and Pearl wouldn't be able to prevent Jasper from hating herself either, so it would be very similar to Malachite.

Post-redemption though, I feel like any Fusion with Jasper involved would have this "gentle giant" vibe, because the thing with Jasper is that she doesn't really want to keep fighting, but she's too good at it and everybody has been using her for that ever since she emerged.

So like, her fusion with Amethyst would be basically Snorlax.

With Pearl I would expect something of a perfect bodyguard. Absolutely focused and stoic, always ready, but never giving into strong emotions.

I hope it'd be about Steven unbubbling and healing Jasper or possibly starting to involve HW a bit more, possibly through accidentally unbubbling the pyramid gem.

But honestly I feel that it'd be nice to get the Jasperdemption out of the way by the time HW rolls around to see what the heck is taking them so long, so you'd get some nice conflicting loyalties tension going. Also with everything that happened at the end of season 3, I think the biggest unresolved plotline that feels the most acute is Jasper being corrupted and bubbled and Steven feeling guilty about that as well as wanting more info on PD.

It could tie around Gem Harvest, around what harvesting gems actually means, and serve to show more lore on how horrid HW is. While simultaneously dealing with the theme of learning to love yourself and Jasper getting over her self-pity and feelings of worthlessness. She could feel like as an utter failure, she deserves to be harvested or some shit like that and of course Steven, horrified, would tearfully convince her that she's got worth or whatever

Then the badass-ness Malachite fusion drove home her strength and anger. So much potential that never gets used, and the half the fanbase spend the following hiatus creaming themselves over the possibilities.

She's a heavily whipped up dream-girl that's failing to live up to expectation. Jasper, on the other hand, is completely different.

Post-redemption or half-redemption. I think if they're both in the right place mentally, willing to give it an honest chance, and will fuse consensually, it'll be a good experience for both.

Also I don't think it'd be like Malachite even if they're both insecure and self-loathing, as Malachite had deception, extortion, hatred and revenge at her core from before she was first formed. Lapis went in with the express intent of using Malachite as a prison and deceiving Jasper - in a way Malachite was formed in order to hurt and torture herself.

Also seeing how Malachite didn't have a single voice even in the beginning when Jasper believed everything was going good indicates it wasn't a proper, collaborative fusion to start with, so Jasper's understanding of what cross-gemtype fusions are and how they work and what your mindset needs to be is probably fundamentally fucked up, she sees it as a battle for power or such.

So they'd need to talk about fusion and how it's supposed to be, how there aren't supposed to be chains, how you sort of vanish and a new gem emerges instead. But if this sort of understanding and a degree of consensual trust, no matter how grudging, are there, I think it couldn't be like Malachite.

Nah. They could cure Jasper first while still having Steven unable to cure them all, because she was
a) corrupted through infection and not direct damage from the diamonds
b) was poofed and bubbled literal seconds after corrupting, whereas most gems have been wandering around for thousands of years in their corrupted state, forgetting they were ever proper gems.

She's different from the other corrupted cases, and thus it'd make sense to start experimenting with her. I mean Steven was able to cure Centipeetle to a state where she had all her memories intact and was able to write and communicate, and she'd been running around for 5000+ years corrupted, maybe even poofing and regenerating several times.

So healing Jasper might be like a stepping stone or pathway to understanding how corruption works. Steven theorised that it's about gems forgetting who they were and who they're supposed to be - but Steven saw Jasper and talked with her in her non-corrupted state, he has mind powers and a memory of Jasper, and also a photo of her uncorrupted. Meanwhile all the other corrupted gems are just corruptions to Steven.
