Started playing at the end of the Hank Pym SO until around the BB SO I think. Up until whenever they rereleased Magnetic Lockboxes and I wasted all my gold only to miss one remaining cover.

Aside from lockbox heroes - and there were only six or seven of them who I'd call "must haves", any character could be bought with enough CP, and that could always be earned in-game. He hoarded gold for those periodic sales, and kept his PvP armoury stocked with prizes won from Spec Ops, PvP roulettes and lockboxes. He had what I often considered an absurd level of impulse control to have all those CP and gold saved up for when he needed them, but he managed to do it. The only thing holding him back from adamantium was the fact that he almost never bought any heroes that weren't necessary for spec op deploys.

Sure it still boils down to "not muh fave" if you stretch for it enough, but a game where only a few characters are worth focusing on isn't a well designed one, especially one with as low of a skill ceiling as FF.

The only bad thing about Future Fight is Timeline Battle the Sharon Rogers-centered Timeline Battle, thanks that NM did their bland OC donut overpowered as hell, Alliance Battle which only a few characters can beat and takes 15 min at the very least, and of course the character embargo, but aside of that it's pretty solid.

That get old after one week of playing.

Most vets auto-play everything but Villain Siege and that's because it doesn't have an autoplay function. Timeline is bullshit and so is Loki Battle. World Boss is currently the only mode I play seriously and even there you need to use the nitpicked characters to beat it and that shit is literally Villain Siege with more overpowered characters.

Let's be honest here for a moment. The charm about Future Fight are not the game modes, but the building characters aspect of the game.

I poured more time into FF then was healthy, and it was pretty clear that persuing certain characters was the only good way to keep up unless you wanted to go full whale and simply outspend the competition (other whales) by a large amount. I never felt the need to buy Carnage, but it certainly wasn't fun grinding for for characters I would never use or HAD to use (seriously, who the fuck cares about Black Order outside of the game?).
