The original Powerpuff Girls was popular enough to start up Powerpuff Girls Z in Japan. That uniquely American flavor mixed with Sanrio-esque aesthetics mixed with magical girl tropes made it really popular there. I dunno how well the reboot series is doing, if it's even aired in Japan yet.
