It's gonna be around 20 minutes total, so maybe I'll still live to see it.

Also the whole thing is apparently rendered in real-time on a single commercial-grade graphics card. That's some amazing technology.

Well, what do you expect, it's mostly one single guy. He started in 2010 for fuck's sake and all he has right now is 7 minutes.
Of course it's not going to be feature length.
But then where else do you even get this sort of animation in this length?
Even despite the fact that he found a really efficient way to render it, still everything in this video has to be modeled by hand. And there's a lot of fucking assets here.
Hell, there's a lot of stuff that's only there for like 5 seconds on screen. Yet someone sat down and designed and crafted that whole model.
The fact that they set this thing on terra in the first place and not, say, on a desolate rock-planet is obscene just considering the amount of extra effort that had to go into modeling things.
And then there's also motion capture and animations going on.

It's a shitload of work and it'll be amazing if we even get the finished 20 minutes.
