Today's episode (and the various other episodes from other shows of similar development), is proof to me that cartoons need to have guest animators more often.

I didn't like the music sequence.
I thought them acting out the words of the song was stupid.

If anything, the ep confirmed that despite all the Smoky Q jokes, Steven is not okay at all with what happened to Jasper and has enormous guilt over not having been able to help her.

You know, combined with how they want to figure out a cure for corruption, and Jasper being bubbled right there in the temple, recently corrupted, Steven's healing powers having come back, and so forth, it's rather likely we'll see her again.

I mean, if you compare this with the time when Jasper was dragged to the ocean as Malachite - she's been mentioned or seen in some form in every episode except Bubbled and Buddy's Book. She's never gotten this much attention.

Her's my review

Never before has a show been so beautifully animated. I clapped when we watched Connie sing about her period while the guest animator recreated menstruation in perfect detail.

It only got better when Steven fused with Connie so he could share the pain of being a woman. I have to admit, it was a bit strange when Lars came out as a transvestite since it felt out of place, but then I checked my privileges.

10/10 so progressive. Really makes me feel a womans pain.
