Thor in Hickman's Avengers was all over the board power-level wise. You get cool moments like OP's pic, & Thor taking on Thanos in Infinity. Then on the other end of the spectrum, he got beat up in the 1st issue if I remember correctly & then he & all the other avengers got their dicks kicked in by POD in Avengers World.

I feel like this inconsistency might've had something to do with Hickman adding so many Avengers to the roster & then introducing a shitload of new characters that are all apparently Silver Surfer-tier powerhouses like his Captain Universe, POD, his Hyperion, his Star Brand, & Nightmask. Prisoners of war are afforded certain privileges on paper, such as not being executed if they cooperate, and not being tortured. Two wrongs don't make a right, don't think that's my logic here, but in the reverse of your rage-storm, if you surrender to people you are very well aware have a rep for executing prisoners, or for that matter see these people execute a prisoner whilst in their custody, at what point does it become acceptable to fight back?
