I never understood why Spawn was black. Because everything about his edgy design and his demonic origin just scream WHITE. Like, I'm sure there's some black people who would find that appealing in a character, but when I think of Spawn's audience I think of dorky white teenagers who listen to Marilyn Manson and play DOOM.
