They didn't know Baljeet or Irving at the beginning of the series and Buford was a generic bully they didn't like instead of their friend. A lot of stuff changed as the show went on. Really got it's groove in season 2 and was going strong until the end of season 3 when they started to try gimmicky specials that made it look like they were running out of ideas.

Dan and Swampy are making a new show that starts next year called Milo Murphy's Law with Weird Al in the title role and the same writers and some of the same voice actors as PnF. I was really hoping, almost begging that P&F wouldn't end up being treated like a redheaded stepchild like every other animated show.
