At first, yeah, but then it speaks in the voice of the protagonist's dead mother, who saddled him with a lot of baggage after she sacrificed her existence to create him and left him the sole heir of her legacy. This line comes after said protagonist gets lost in an idealized dreamworld of his own making and can't find the way out because when he looks for it, he keeps ending up accidentally reshaping the dream to his idea of reality instead of leaving. The whale only speaks three words: "What DO you want?"

I gotta go rewatch that episode sometime.

That's the kind of plot device they can only use once and they'll need to break Rose's room so it can never be done again. Flashbacks are fine but it's actually vitally important to the story structure that Rose and Steven can't exist at the same time.

Topper of keks. I love the show, but even I can recognize that it's lacking in the quality department. The fight choreography is shit, the animation isn't the greatest, the show relies too much on anime tropes, and they got rid of best gem bismuth.
