Morrison's DP is profoundly overrated in terms of his career as a whole.

Flex and Dada were good, but that's about as far as you can take it for sure.
For the rest of the run, anything else he has done is far better. Invisibles, The Filth, the Flex mini, hell, even Final Crisis.

I thought it was not as weird as most of Morrison stuff, i really liked the dude that wanted everything to me normal that tries to kill Danny.
There's something about the overall themes touched during the entire run that just makes me feel uneasy but interested at the same time, i understand how it can be so "lol this is weird for the sake of been weird am i right guys?" to some, but i like it.
Also, the issue with the gay ape and the brain is so fucking hilarious.

The ideas are not presented well. Morrison is usually a schizophrenic plotter but most of this is just drivel designed to make you feel cool for being far out.
It's an embarrassingly juvenile effort from a writer who should know better.
Just try to read issue 54 with a straight face.
It's liking someone read a Morrison comic once, got really high and tried to recreate it.

Yes, some of the low points in Morrison Patrol can be moderately improved if you actually look up obscurities, but it doesn't change that they're boring and rough parts of the run.

imo, the appeal of Morrison was that he made "deep" and "meta" shit entertaining, and when he just makes something boring, even superficial, it kind of destroys the point.

I find it hard to defend anything Morrison did in the first trade of DP issues, aside from establishing the characters.

There's a few sites that have it, but there's also the Archive Editions from the early 2000's. They're the only full color collected editions of the original Silver Age series, and very poorly priced for the amount of content in each. Especially considering they're now long since out of print.

Well, that's probably true.

I still like it, but not nearly as much as Flex Mentallo or later stuff. For me, his and Waids Flash run has a similar taste to it, as in, he's just jamming concepts into it he thinks are cool, but that don't do much storywise.
