I enjoyed Suicide Squad but it's impossible to deny that movie has serious structural problems that are impossible to overlook.

I mean I'd rather watch it over like Oceans 12 or The Usual Suspects or most Will Smith movies but it frustrates me to no end how they butchered this movie with nonsense editing.

RT scores are ultimately only reflective of technical competency in a movie. Is a movie effectively made with a plot that follows the 4 major literary devices of dramatic structure? Because that's pretty much all it takes to make to get above a 70% on RT since the lions share of critics tend to give judge films on technical matters. That's why utter dross like Lady Ghostbusters, Age of Ultron, or TFA is rated so highly because there's enough "meh it's boring but it flowed correctly" type reviews to push it to the top.

Ant Man was good.

I don't understand how the Iron Mans or Thors can, though. Cap, GOTG, and Ant Man are the only truly excellent Marvel movie lines.
>>
>>85492753
Ant Man was decently edited instead if being just a collection of scenes thrown together.

I legitimately think that every MCU movie is better than all three of these DC movies. Even at their shittiest, the MCU movies at least seem like they like the characters on screen

>>
>>85492802

>>85492846

yeah I get that Suicide Squad had strange editing, about 1000 pop rock songs back-to-back and not enough joker.

But ant man was by-far the most boring MCU movie. It had terrible CGI, and it just felt really gloomy through the whole thing.

Whereas Punisher, Iron Man 1 and Incredible Hulk were top-tier contained super hero movies.
>>
>>85492668
MoS has few glaring pacing issues where it runs a bit too long and is disjointed at places, it has too much stuff for the running time that is has, which hinders the viewing experience. SS doesn't have perfect pacing either but it flows considerably better and is far more straight forwarded and thus more easy to enjoy.

Yeah, it did. It had really funny moments. But the whole movie felt really drab. Same reason I have a problem with Deadpool. They're funny movies but they're so... gray for lack of a better word.

That's why I held out hope for Suicide Squad. For some reason I thought it would have the same feel as a the promotional material, where it would be bright and colorful and different but also have that murdery side.

I'll wait for the ultimate edition I guess

Generic hero triumphs over adversity with TV tier cinematography while generic 'epic' orchestral music plays.
At least Cap 2 had the Bucky angle. Needed to be more about that and less and Hydra and Pierce. Redford is an incredibly boring actor. The eye candy hunk of his day, hired for loks not skill.

A lot of people can't separate a work from its fans. Worse, some people can't even separate the typical, casual fan from the raving lunatic obsessed nuts. You can't like Sonic 3 without being some guy making [First Name] the Hedgehog OCs on Deviantart.

I guess for a lot of people, it's not even about the shows or comics or whatever, it's just status. "People like X, but I know it has flaws and I hate it, so I'm better than them." It must seriously kill your ability to enjoy anything.

Are you literally fucking retarded? Reduce any film down like that and you can make it sound generic enough that you would say you'd seen it already.

Take MoS and BvS for example: Good alien beats up bad alien to save humans from extinction is one of the most generic sci fi plots ever.

Anon, it's not a good movie. It's full of cliches and full of bad dialogue thrown in because "Hey, pay attention! Nothing about the "plot" is spoonfed. BvS has too many different subplots all going on at once and each scene feels disconnected from the last. Comic books don't translate directly into movies, there are sacrifices that have to be made for it to make any semblance of sense. Snyder needs to fucking learn that.

I disagree. The problem isn't that Snyder is directly adapting a comic book. The problem is that he keeps trying to adapt SIX comic books.

The Batman that we see during The Death of Superman is not the same in terms of characterization as the Batman of The Dark Knight Returns. The Superman of Birthright is very different from the Superman of Earth One.
Snyder thinks that by pulling scenes from a dozen different titles he's distilling the essence of the characters but he doesn't grasp that said scenes work in their individual contexts but are not interchangable.

There is the average score beneath the tomatometer, not that those are much better.

In 3 films it's made more money than the MCU did in its first 3.

I am a nerd, just not one that's into superhero movies. Really it's tragic that you guys have to put up with this superhero fashion trend that churns out movies which should have been cancelled in pre-production.

It was just good. Better pacing (the Kripton flashbacks are more entertaining than the other versions of Superman's origins i've seen, which are Reeve movie and DCAU), cool costumes. All the destruction doesn't seem to be Superman fault. Supes killing Zod was inevitable. Most of the complaints are just"not muh". I agree in that Jonathan is a bad advisor ("maybe" was a bad answer, and "stop, invincible son" scene was retarded) but it doesn't ruin the movie for me. Supes being a depressed fuck makes sense in the whole movie, he's happy when he needs to be (like at the end).

>8/10
I had fun with sperg Lex, even when his plan was too complicated, i actually loved that his motives weren't too clear (was he really concerned of Superman as a potential menace for humanity?, was he was butthurt because no one saved him as a kid from his father abuse?, did he wanted to prove that God omnipotence vs goodness paradox?). I hate Lois shoehorning into everything, and that she always has Supes to save her ass (how he didn't listened as good when his mom was in danger?), but not enough to ruin the movie, Again, emo Supes makes sense given the circumstances. Batman was awesome except for the killing (i wanted this one to be the first non killer live action Batman since Adam West) and the Flash time travel scene. They could have done a better casting for Wondy, i mean, Gal is like a 8/10, but Wondy should be should be a 10/10. I liked the Justice League cameos, what if Lex wanted to give logos to some freaks he was studying?. The BvS fight was cool, and i can't said i didn't hated MARTHA Deus Ex Machina (Batman has a hardcore PTSD for anything related to his parents, so, is no surprise to me that he reacted the way he did when HE HEARD THAT NAME).

>8/10
I can't remember much, but i got out of the teather happy, same for most of the other attendants, i think.

Sorry if my english (or my opinions) are retarded.

Never come back, Chad. I was also into /sp/ stuff, and let me tell you, it's boring as hell, so you don't deserve to judge entertainment stuff.

Ah, humans and their ability to shoot red lighting, smash through buildings, and grow bone weapons. Those grey skinned orc people don't know how lucky they have it!

>>
>>85512119
You claimed Doomsday was mostly human. It inherited a weakness to kryptonite from Zod unless Luthor forgot to take his anti kryptonite pills when making Doomsday.
>>
>>85512187
>Zod was alive
>>
>>85512226
So because Luthor was the only live one, it's completely human? With super powers and a kyptonite weakness? What was Zod for if he was just some useless corpse?
>>
>>85512257
>What was Zod for if he was just some useless corpse?
Symbolism for when Supes is killed the exact same why his father was. (Jor)

Watched SUICIDE SQUAD yesterday and it feltlike i was watching a fucking B movie compared to BVS.

Movie is literally 35-40 minutes of character introductions and followed by mindless action.

>35 half assed charcater intros
>enchantress escapes like it was obvious she could do as she can telport any FUCKING WHERE
>mindless action against B movie looking grunts
>Everyone comes togethor its over

There are actually plebs in this board that thought it was a good film?

Pathetic!

Made BVS look like an oscar contendor

Anyways heres my ratings:

MOS: 7.5
BVS:9.0
SS: 5.5

At least man of steel and Bats vs supes tried to be a full length film and not some throw \together mes like Suicide squad.
>>
>>85491103
Couldn't agree more, OP
Suicide Squad < Man of Steel < Batman v Superman
