Hank Hill was a conservative

but he wasn't a redneck who fucked his sister on nascar night while making hot dogs for the Klan
>>
>>85417587
annoying

it seems to be confused about what demographic it is trying to appeal to

what's with the Lithuanian kid?

You can make a nuanced well meaning conservative person who is able to have perspective
But how can you do that with liberal people?

make Family Matters.

Ubuntu?

His progressive parents adopted a boy from South Africa because they wanted a black baby to virtue signal with.

They were given an Dutch Afrikaner and made a Rachel Dolezal out of him.

I remember one anon saying that the main difference between this and KotH was that Hank was a conservative, but a reasonable one. He could change and adapt his views and while he and his life were a satire of that white conservative Texan lifestyle it felt like it came from a place of love.

The Goode Family came off as less laughing with you and more laughing at a caricature of you.
>>
i don't like it because Mr.Enter told me too

okay, how do you make a white liberal family nuanced

Liberals all don't grow organic gardens and avoid driving and praise Al Gore. My experience with liberals has generally just been people in support of gay rights and not voting for Trump.

we don't think of it. ever.

Yes, they are Hippies wanna-be's with a mix of PC culture

Is that thing with the libertarian right/left and totalitarian right/left grade. The creator had problems with the tags.

In fact, even recent series like "Last man on earth" who tried to target sjw culture miss the point with dated factors and lake of contact with the internet.

Pretty much this.

Hank's defining trait wasn't him being conservative but him being the straight-man. He was always the normal dude who enjoyed his life and stood for what he believed in. He can fully admit when he fucks up and when he needs to change but most of the time he's mostly in the right just by way of being fairly moderate.

Hank is the man that we want to be or at least hang around with. He's the kind of man where you can share a beer with him after work but he's also the dude who'd help you with your life problem or in a fight. Hank is a friend that we wish we all had if we don't have him, a dude too good for this world but trying to make it better.

Really ahead of it's time. That said, it's not really good. KOTH was satirical, but didn't forget to make the characters fleshed out and relatable, TGF is incredibly absurd by comparison, even compared to Beavis and Butthead. It's not really easy to palate knowing Mike Judge is involved.

dad works in tech in California, putting him in a place that's overly liberal, where he's only kinda liberal
he's still kind of a wimp who's never worked a blue collared job or gotten into a fight, but not to the point of it being overly obnoxious
really he's more of a guy that is easily influenced by popular opinion, even if he doesn't like it.
most episodes would involve him trying to accept something he secretly is uncomfortable with and finds a middle ground with it
as opposed where Hank hated something but usually found a middle ground with it in the end

the wife is more obnoxious about her liberal views, and is twice as likely to fall for fads, but joke is she's really bad at it.
like she's try to cut out glutton, but would secretly eat it, she'd try organic gardening, but'd kill her plants, she'd try to be tolerant but would be intolerant a lot of the time, etc. Peggy wasn't likable either so she doesn't really need to be either

they pretty much have a Luanne to, but a little more on the point of being a Christian and Conservative to counter the rest of the family

the son is a slacker not interested in any political stuff, but grows to have more interests involving athletic stuff to counter the father

the Bill tried to have an open relationship, but then his wife left him, lets make it with another woman so its feels less pathetic. but still something he deals depression with

the Khan is his H1-B coworker who the Hank really hates because he's obnoxious but knows he can't think that way (mostly Human resources would fire him)

the Dale is a gay journalist who overly hates the right, and has an adopted son

the Boomhauer a trust fund baby who uses his money to sleep with a bunch of woman

best i could think of
>>
If it wasn't for the fact it was mentioned occasionally in an episode, you probably wouldn't know what Hank's political views are because there is more to him than that

This on the other hand, the characters have no real personality and feels like someone took a Ramirez cartoon and animated it
>>
While King of the Hill was more of a knowing self-parody, there isn't really anything inherently funny about liberals or conservatives per se, and the Goode clan isn't as affectionately spoofed compared to Hank Hill and his family, nor are they given much characterization beyond their stereotypes. The result is they're too hard for liberal viewers to relate to, and simply annoying to conservative viewers.
>>
the main characters are annoying and unrelatable
