Jeez, I think that was when I stopped watching AT regularly. I still fondly remember the stuff with Marceline's songs and junk. I can't believe AT somehow became like CN's spongebob.

And Regular Show, as good as its first few seasons were, has definitely overstayed its welcome too. Last I recall watching it CJ became a regular and Margaret was taken out of the picture for wierd but slightly understandable reasons I guess? it's really weird, back In 2011/2012 the show had a vibe that is very related to the one SU gives me nowadays, a fun little show with actual world development and interesting lore with some good songs on the side, a lot of people say the show is the same nowadays but for someone who didn't have any interaction with AT from 2012 to 2016, i just re watched the entire show from episode 1 and it definitively changed, and not in the good way at least imo

Never said she fought Rose. Don't know if she did or not. Jasper at least knows how Rose fights. Jasper was made in a desperate attempt to stop Rose's rebellion, so it's possible they encountered each other.

Steven will probably make a connection between Jasper and Rose both being the same kind of thing, ask how his mother stopped being 'like Jasper', we get a glimpse of the rebellion, and Pearl is turned about helping redeem Jasper.

What separates SU from AT is it seems like Sucrose has an overall arc she wants to see through, whereas Pendleton set a general mandate of "every throwaway gag will be incorporated into the lore and we have a Lich."

So Adventure Time got too bloated and became less and less about adventuring times. That said, while I was completely out of the rotation while season 6 was airing, I did go back and watch it and season 7 as a block and the episodes are actually pretty good. Season 6 especially gets fucking G R I M. Overall though I'm more invested in Sucrose's Wild Ride.

QQ, what season of AT exactly is when the quality takes a nosedive? In case in the future I feel like investing in season DVD's. I already have Season 1 of Spongebob (3 fucking cases, but it's kinda worth it), I THINK the first season of Darkwing Duck, all of Total Drama Island(but not the later season, I have netflix for those I guess), all of FLCL, all of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, and am working on getting all of Gurren Lagann as well once I finish watching it on netflix.

It might be going overboard with pearl and peridot as of late but SU has mostly been an uphill climb since episode 1, peaked a bit with Jailbreak, and has been somewhat consistent since then aside from rare blips like Sadie's Song (Which isn't even a bad episode, just kinda absurd).

If every porkchop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs. SU is one of the most consistent shows I've ever watched and I've been watching animated shows since the early-mid 90's.
