Best example is the pic I posted. Do you know who the voice actor is for this character? It's Don Messick, the original Scooby Doo and just about EVERY Hanna Barbera character for decades.

Do you know who does the voice of Scooby Doo now? Frank Welker, the original voice of Fred. He picked the Scooby voice up from working with Don Messick for many years.

The point I'm building up to is that voice actors are easily replaceable. You could come up with a unique voice right now, and if it could make a little bit of money, someone will learn to imitate it to the T.

And that's why no one cares about voice actors. The only reason we have actors like Tara Strong is because the studios prefer to work with someone they're comfortable with vs. the next weeaboo girl that flails through the door. Now if Tara started to become demanding , then the studios would weigh out the pros and cons before replacing her.

That's the unfortunate truth about it. Robert Downey Jr. is Iron man because we see him on screen wearing the costume. Tara Strong is only Bubbles from Power Puff Girls when someone points it out or reads the credits. Can easily be another person doing the voice.

Phil Lamarr once said in an interview that the ability to do different voices is a bonus, not a requirement. Lots of people can sound like famous cartoon characters, what voice directors are looking for are people who can act. While obviously certain things are required for certain roles - the Goofy holler is apparently one of the most difficult things in VA work - a good VA who only has one voice will get more work than a shitty one who can do a hundred voices. Kevin Conroy's Batman isn't iconic because he uses two voices, it's because he uses distinct mannerisms and tone.

And again, as I said before, a voice actor can be replaced with no issues. The qualities you listed are easily reproduced by another person. And it's why VAs are not able to become total celebrities.
