Do you listen to music while reading comics?
I listened to the S.t.a.l.k.er Soundstrack when I was reading Walking Dead - very ambient with no lyrics, it was perfect.
Currently reading Preacher but I cant think of a good soundtrack to go with it.
What are some are music/sounds you listen to while reading comics?
*burp*
Gotta have cheesy power metal in the background when reading fantasy comics.

Admittedly haven't read Preacher, but what I know if it seems very alt-country-esque.

I don't listen to anything because it would disrupt my enjoyment of both. You can't give your full attention to what you're seeing and reading if you're also listening to something, and you can't listen to something if you're reading something. The end result is that you ruin both experiences.
For me at least.

How about some of Swan's Blues work for Preacher?
I occasionally listen to music with comics that are consistent in their themes. If they swap to something light-hearted having slam metal play just ain't right.
Grindcore in the background for Crossed was pretty fitting.

>Crossed
thoughts on that? just read the synopsis. can they (the "crossed") talk?

I enjoy the comics, but I've only read the first issue, psychopath, a few bits of badlands, and the web comic.
Out of them all the first issue and the web comic are the best.
Think of the Crossed as crazed russian degenerate cave people. They somewhat swap about from writer to writer but the main focus is always that they live only to cause pain on others.

Preacher literally screams for Ghost.
While reading I usually choose music which stimulates and entertains me through its texture rather the individual song composition itself.
Classical music (Górecki, Mahler, Ravel), technical death metal (Spawn of Possession, Beyond Creation, Obscura, Cattle Decapitation), doom metal (Ahab, Monoloithe, Mourning Beloveth) or maybe something electronic or ambient (Atrium Carceri, Boards of Canada).

My borther was training playing and singing Imagine Dragon for days while I was reading Sandman.
So it kind of stuck with me, and complemented nicely. It was great to read Morpheus lampshaded funeral on the Inn at the End of the World, to the sound of Radioactive - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktvTqknDobU
One of the most satisfying reads was when I read through Batman and Son, RIP and some of Incorporated while listening to SubRosa

Another fine time was had when I read All-Star Superman and listened to Ascent of Everest

Sandman was amazing because around the same time I discovered David Sylvian and it worked perfectly together. Incidentally, he has a mind-blowing song named Orpheus:

This is his contribution to the OST of the Monster anime (which was how I got to know about him):

These were both happy accidents as I normally just listen to what I like to listen to in general while reading comics. If the comic is good, I forget to select something new when an album is finished and just read on anyway.

Also, I greatly enjoyed The Bulletproof Coffin while listening to Lightning Bolt
