Can someone explain why this brags about its R-rated status as if it's a one-of-a-kind, AND in a really immature way?
>>
It's not the first R-rated animated movie but for one to get such a wide theatrical release is still a pretty big deal.

Also, "IT'S A CARTOON BUT THEY SWEAR" is a draw for normies and frat boys.
>>
>>85154686
R-rated animated movies with a full theatrical release is extremely rare.
>>
Normies have it in their mind that most things animated are for kids.
>>
>>85154686
Hopefully revitalizing animated movies being made for adults. The constant swearing is just a constant reminder that your kid shouldn't be watching
>>
>>85155267
is this because of the mongoloid conception of animation being entirely for kids or weirdos?
>>
>>85155073
Why is seeing a cartoon with swaering characters so shocking for normies?
>>
>>85154686
because it's been multiple decades since FRitz the Cat was released. How many years since Bigger, Longer, and Uncut?

point is they need to sell DUDE FOOD LMAO and this is one method.
>>
>>85155414
>Hopefully revitalizing animated movies being made for adults

You are mega dumb, for real dumb.
>>
>>85155414
Reminder that nothing good nor bad will come out of this movie succeeding or failing and /co/ likes to think they could or could not influence movies for adults that may or may not come out in the future
>>
I want to see it fail, just because I have personal gurdge against Sony as a compagny and want Sony to suffer as much as possible.
>>
>>85155585
Please, with how much it's been spreading on social networks? I highly doubt it.
>>
>>85155558
Didn't the creators of Clone High say that the success of this movie could open doors for them?
>>
>>85155479
Normies are sheltered
>>
>>85154686

Deadpool.

The film Deadpool made it cool (again) to turn once commonly seen as G/PG/PG-13 stories into rated R.

>Hey, if it worked for the Superhero stories - lets try it for child-like cartoon movies!

Plus, Seth wanted to do a satire film of Pixar, Disney, Illumination, and etc. films since they've been knocking shit out of the park with most of their films in recent years.
>>
>Normie this Normie that

holy shit...
>>
>>85154686
le dick jokes and innuendos. That's it really.
>>
>>85154686
because you have to reassure people this is not a children's movie due to adult themes and shit like that. it's like telling someone over and over you're about to get hit in the head
>>
>>85155652
There must more to this than just that,
>>
>>85155479
what >>85155431 pretty much said.
>>
>>85155707
>knocking shit out of the park

You aren't saying Seth is actually jealous and bitter about Disney?
>>
>>85154686
It's because parents are stupid and will take their kids to see it based on it looking like your average animated movie. They need to keep reminding them it's rated R. Over and over and over again.

People are stupid.
>>
>>85155898
In my country there is always a cinema employee making sure that children don't get access to adult movies, isn't there anything like this in America?
>>
>>85155889

Uhh, I think he's alright where his success is. He had a lot of good and great movies along with fewer bad ones - I think he's fine with it. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and think it's more like he's sick and tired of the constant "OMFG (animated film) WAS AMAZING EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE IT" almost every other month the past recent years.
>>
>>85155431
Yes.

>Sausage Party is about science versus religion. It’s about blind faith versus undebatable truth
>>
>>85155999
Is it though?
>>
>>85155999
what the fuck?
>>
>>85156101
What do you think?
>>
>>85155969
Yes but if they are accompanied by an adult then they are allowed in anything that isn't rated NC-17.

But often parents don't care. I've worked retail and sold Grand Theft Auto games to parents with their preteens right next to them. You tell them this game isn't for kids and they just roll their eyes.
>>
>>85155889
I think Sony exes are, and they seem desparate for a hit.
>>
>>85156212
It seems America as some serious social issues.
>>
>>85155969
I used to work in a movie theater and we were specifically instructed that kids of any age can get into an R-rated movie as long as an adult was wtih them.
>>
Adult cartoons are nothing new and are commonly accepted now. Adult Swim, Fox, Netflix, Comedy Central, FX, etc have made it so there are something like 2 dozen adult cartoons currently running.

Even adult-aimed animated movies are nothing new, despite being a much rarer occurrence than family titles. What sets Sausage Party apart from adult cartoons on TV right now and previous adult animated features is 100% the animation itself. There's never been a fully CGI animated R-rated movie. It honestly is a big deal. If it were the usual cheap animation you see in adult TV cartoons, or very cost-cutting CGI, or any sort of 2D, nobody would give a shit. It's the fact that it's a real CGI animated movie with a wide release that is rated R.

Are you guys hating on this film because you think going to Newgrounds back in the day makes you adult animation connoisseurs?

This move will draw probably a few laughs out of me, but not at any financial expense.
>>
>>85155073
what about the South Park movie 17 years ago? This isn't anything new
>>
>>85159512

You just strengthened the point. That was 17 years ago and there have barely been any major wide releases of an R-rated animated movie since. 17 years is a long-ass time, especially when you consider that people born when the South Park movie came out are now legally able to buy a ticket for this movie.

Occam's Razor anon.

Sometimes the best answer is the simple ones.

According to the leaked script (which apparently has had some alterations but still seems to have the same storyline); religion is opium for the masses, but it beats the alternative. Before they made up the religion, food lived in absolute horror and their short lives were lived in nightmarish agony. After the sausage learns that religion is false, he immediately runs off to tell everybody and history immediately repeats itself, everybody starts killing themselves and everything goes down the shitter for no benefit at all, because salvation comes from something else entirely that happened right at that moment, unrelated to the religious aspect at all. If it wasn't for the deus ex machina, him going full fedora would have accomplished less than nothing.

I mean, there's still a message of 'religion is fake', but if Seth was trying to point out why religion was bad, showing how great their lives were with religion and how awful it was without it was a really really incredibly fucking poor way to do so.

Even when they fucking know firsthand, they still don't care until it's too late. I swear, all those fantasy stories about losing insight when you're no longer a child seem so spot fucking on.

Is anyone surprised at the lack of porn?
>>
>>85155898
I'm surprised more people aren't realizing this is the real reason. One TV spot I saw literally had a warning at the beginning that was like "Sausage party is animated but is not a kids movie" and it wasn't played for laughs or anything. It was a real disclaimer I think it's because it was prime time.
>>
>>85159766
>I mean, there's still a message of 'religion is fake', but if Seth was trying to point out why religion was bad, showing how great their lives were with religion and how awful it was without it was a really really incredibly fucking poor way to do so.
Yea I agree. It seems more like it's commenting on how religion is fake but asserting that it does more good than harm. I'm not really sure if that's what they meant to do but that's the message that comes through.

Stonewall and Riot.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
