Yeah,that's because the apps I used to do it don't do any shading. (AKVIS Coloriage & MSPaint where needed).As for Connie's skin,I used AKVIS,which doesn't do darker colors. (would have used the RGB values from any S1 screenshot if so)

As for gaps (possibly in Connie's hair),the dumb MSPaint smoothing is to blame in there.

I just managed to edit it again here and there. I had to redo Connie's skin using MSPaint entirely,but Peridot's suit was done with AKVIS. As far as I remember,one of the official pics of Peridot on the wiki has this tone. Anyways this is as dark as I could get it. It would have been a royal pain to do it in MSPaint (~2 hours at least)so I used AKVIS.
