Some of it's alright, and there's beautiful stuff, and...

Eh, whatever. It's not like I wouldn't dump it the moment it got too dull or stupid, but I heard a lot of complaints about Adventure Time and never had any problems with later seasons.

It's nowhere near as offensive as "fun" capeshit that's completely vacuous where you have to turn off your brain to enjoy it.
It's possible I'm biased and hypocritical and blind to that, perhaps because it's a kid's show, and the only reason I see it in something like MLP but not this is because I happen to like lesbian space rocks but not ponies.

It's not just filler, it's whether it's enjoyable. If it's not about the destination but the journey, the journey had better not suck. Yeah, SU filler ain't high art, but I couldn't stand GF. Not to mention I feel like SU meters out the plot a tiny bit faster, whereas GF saves it all up for those season finales, and I just don't care when they don't even bother to tease it out at all.

I mean, fucked if Lost didn't leave a sour taste in my mouth. It had a nice lingering atmosphere that haunts me, but both journey and destination were a piss-take for me.

Gravity Falls fluctuates asset quality wildly depending on if the scene is actually used or just an establishing shot void of people.
Harvey Beaks is a disaster of a show animation wise. The backgrounds all look like they don't go with any of the other assets and all just look unnecessarily fuzzy. Worse yet that background style means none of it animates. It's absolutely hideous in motion.
Steven Universe has consistent assets that actually work with the art of the show.
