When I was really young I preferred Disney Channel. I remember really liking Rescue Rangers, Ducktales, and Gummi Bears and the like.

Because the only TV with cable was my grandparents bedroom, and I wasn't allowed to change the channel unless it was Kids WB or Nick Jr.

When I got to fourth grade though, I started talking about how I was old enough (at 9) to make my own decisions for cartoons. It worked, and I got to watch anything besides Simpsons, KotH, and South Park. But when I got a TV in my room in 5th grade, I found out they would show South Park reruns at midnight on channel 9. That lasted for a year before my dad broke my TV for watching South Park.

I watched Cartoon Network because it actually fucking showed cartoons. Disney was always kiddy shit or live action shows about girls doing girl things. I would occasionally check out Nick for shows like Avatar or Catdog or Hey!Arnold, but it was only ever if nothing was on CN.

I fondly remember getting home early enough to catch Thundercatz or Zoids or whatever was airing early, then once Toonami was over or nearly over, I'd watch Comedy Central or whatever chanel Whose Line came on. I got in the habit of going from Toonami to Colbert Report to Adult Swim and that was pretty good.

Basically, Cartoon Network always had the better programming blocks and more interesting shows.

Preferred CN, but switched to Disney at night because Adult Swim and Nick at Night would play shows I'm not interested, or in fucking september through october would have nightmare inducing commercials to kid me.

CN was 36, Disney was 35, Nick was 34. Comedy Central was 66 I think.

I'm going to have to go with Nick, CN didn't come about till I was already well into my teens and Disney didn't air anything I hadn't already seen on morning/afternoon cartoon run on the local affiliates.

10 year-old me thought that Disney was the most basic and safest channel of them all...it was the channel you'd play at hospitals so patients won't get disturbed.
In terms of watching frequency, CN > Nick >> Disney. Nick was an upgrade from CN (all with Popeye, Tom & Jerry and Cow & Chicken) Danny Phantom and My Life as a Teenage Robot...wasn't interested in the slice of life shows there though.
