If the mass stays the same,, how could anybody hold a tank even while it's shrunk? And how could Scott stand on Luis' shoulder without him noticing if he still has the weight of a normal man?

Pym particles.
>>
>>85036242

Second only to unstable molecules for their Pure Bullshittium content.
>>
I always thought when you shrink with Pym Particles, the weight shrinks proportionately but strength is concentrated and when you grow weight and strength increase and the extra mass is stored in another dimension.

And what about how he landed on that car?
>>
disregarding what is told, and focusing on what is seen:
shrunk object retain weight proportionate to size shrunk to, tanks and people do not sink into the ground or cause strain when carried. small objects become incredibly difficult to move when grown

shrunk objects retain original mass when impacting another object at high speeds, ant-man dents a car by falling on it while small, and is capable of hurling people several times his size

shrunk objects exhibit less inertia, people can easily swing shrunk objects as if they were small easy to carry props

shrunk objects structural strength increases at a rate greater than expected, giant man not only supports his own weight, but is now missile proof, including his costume
>>
>>85040017
That makes sense I guess.

It doesn't. The mass consistently changes with size in the movies.

He said the mass stays the same though. It's a line in the movie.

If it shrinks things by moving the molecules closer together, then how can you shrink to the subatomic level?

But magic is just science we don't understand yet.
>>
>>85042261
No. For a man of average weight they would have to shrink down to smaller than the radius of a neutrino, which is far smaller than any of the component particles of an atom.
>>
>>85041395
Joke would had been funnier if they ended it at Taskmaster correcting Deadpool. The last panel just over-explains the joke and drags it on.

I thought that was the whole idea of "subatomic"

science is utilizing laws of physics to do shit

magic is all like LAWS? PHYSICS!?
WINGARDIUM LEVI FUCK OFF, THE COUCH CAN NOW FLY!
>>
>drive a tank off the tenth floor
>this somehow protects you from the landing

The mass thing is just pym particles, a tank miraculously negating the concussive force from falling from that height is just plain bullshit scooted over because they wanted the scene. It'd have made more sense if he'd had a vial of pym particles hidden inside the tank. Or if they were locked in one of the first-story rooms and used the tank to knock through the wall.
>>
>>85043721
Your example could be justified as manipulating antigravity particles we haven't yet discovered.
>>
>>85036337
If that were the case, Antman would fly from anyone he tried to punch, and they'd be left mostly unphased.

>doesn't mean tank parts stop from breaking
It is canon that Antman gain extreme durability when shrunk. So it makes sense that using the same process, you can shrink the tank into a keychain while making it almost indestructible while in that state.
>>
>>85036210
Weight and mass are completely separate things. Pym particles change the weight but keep the mass. Meaning he would have no trouble carrying it, but if he threw it at someone it would FUBAR them,
>>
PSA: Ant-Man is not real. Some suspension of disbelief is recommended.
>>
>>85036210

Don't

Just don't ask

It's not even Pym particles. It's just movie inconsistency. That stuff applies when it is convenient. Besides this movie is barely remembered so it really doesn't matter.
>>
>>85046828
>but if he threw it at someone it would FUBAR them,

>"I'm driving, dad! Throw me the keys!"
>hand gets taken off at the wrist
>drop keys in bowl
>no more bowl, sideboard or floor
>absentmindedly spin keychain around by the ring while thinking
>fingers crushed to a pulp

What if you got two redwood tree-trunks and shrunk them down, and then made a pair of nunchucks out of them?
>>
>>85046948
>Besides this movie is barely remembered

Then why do so many people keep talking about it?

Literally who? I mean outside of 4chan. This movie happened, made money, and that was it.
>>
>>85047046
>This movie happened, made money, and that was it.

You can say that for pretty much any film. No one talks about Heat, no one talks about No Country for old men.
>>
>>85047046

Ant-man solo and his role in Civil War were stand out, people were wondering about where the Ant-man and wasp info was at from SDCC.
>>
>>85047081

Trust me friendo, people talked about No Country for a while. Antman is a good movie but not a memorable one.
>>
>>85047112

By awhile you mean 6 months? After the Oscars it was pretty much dropped. You also skipped over Heat, pleb.

Point is "no one talking about it" means nothing, when info on ant-man and wasp comes out is when fans can speculate.

The only idiots pinning over a flick (shitty flick) day in and day out are dcucks forever defending trash like BvS.

Hell they don't even talk about mos anymore lol.
>>
>>85047046
>outside of 4chan

>>85047158

I think you put too much stock in some diehard MCU fans. Just be happy it did well despite the troubled production.
>>
>>85047194

The fact that it did so well despite geek god Wright leaving is a testament to how good it was. Especially critically. Critics were out for that films blood, starting out mid 60% building up to 81%.

Have never seen another film do that on RT.
>>

But Virbranium is explained and easy to understand, it absorbs vibrations.
>>
>>85048040
Except when it doesn't, like when it's used to punch with.
>>
>>85036210
Not mass, but the amount of force they produce when they impact something?

So the question is, why doesn't Hank's hip or wrist get dislocated every time his keychain tank jiggles around?
>>
>>85048234
Because he reduced both it's size and power (mass, force, etc.) But kept it's durability. When he re-embiggened it, he upped the size and power together.
>>
For the love of god just accept it and focus on the story for once.

People keep claiming that "the mass stays the same" but the movie never says this. In the movie, everything's mass changes as it's size changes.

Things also get stronger whether they're grown or shrunk.
