If you run into one, don't bother trying to run, your best bet is to lie on your back with your pants off and just start thrust your hips up into the air. There's 3/5 chance that they'll think your acting weird because of disease and decide to go eat something that won't make them sick, however if they're really hungry they'll probably just eat you anyway. If the latter happens try to get them to eat ancillary tissues first (dick meat, arm meat, etc.) protect your legs head and back. There's a slim chance they'll get full while eating you and leave you for coons to finish off, if that happens you'll need your legs to get back to civilization and hopefully medical attention.

My thinking on it is that some hidden message in the trees gives you the general location while the outline provides you with the definite path. Otherwise, if someone was clever enough to notice the hidden message in the trees from the start, they'd be able to get the statue too early. Both clues are needed to find the statue. We need the outline. And as we have no size comparison for the outline, it has to match some trail or geological feature. Scanning areas from a grid for matching paths and geological features in Oregon should let us complete this before the other sites.

It appears that the statue is leaning against something that isn't a tree.

If look closely at the shading, it's not a smooth transition, not cylindrical like a tree, but multiple sides, like a rectangle or a post. There's literally a darker rectangle going all the way down the side, like an upright 2x4, but very dark, darker than the furthest trees in the background.

I think it's safe to say that something man-made is behind it, most likely keeping it upright, and that makes me think it's a more permanent installation.
