It's not about the violence. I'm sure this anon is just complaining about the fact that there is no 10 minute scenes of people just carrying different meals to a feast.

But seriously the show is always in a hurry to get to the next BIG and SHOCKING event. The books take their time.

Different anon, but I think the major issue with the show is how dumbed down it is. Besides the obvious world building and plot stuff, the characters in the show are a lot more flat and there's a lot less grey morality. Think about all of the show only people who think that Dany and Tyrion are clearly "good guys" yet hate Stannis and think he's a prick.

There was something I read a while ago that mentioned adapting ASOIAF into an animated show before GOT was picked up, but I'll have to look for the source.

I think one of the best things about an animated series would be the chance to depict characters as they were described (pic related, although I'm not big on the Sam or Cersei in this) and show scenes that couldn't really be conveyed in a live action program without looking cheesy/relying *too* much on CGI. Imagine a proper House of the Undying sequence. That would be badass

The books are largely about the horrors of war in a feudal society. Disney-fying it would just ruin it. And we already have one bad adaptation we don't need another.
