The inherent problem with Garnet is that she works best in a duo with someone she can play off, because she talks so little that she gets crowded out. Since the show is from Steven's pov, he always has to be there. Reformed is a good example, where Steven kind of pushes Garnet into the background in what was supposed to be an episode about Garnet and Amethyst. Log Date seems to suggest that the writers are aware of the problem.

Anybody else feel the new episode was pretty bad continuity wise? I can't understand the transition Centipeedle made between a humanoid gem and a bigger monster than she was before. You know, know that I think about it, corruption likely functions as a way of soft resetting a gem, so it reforms as what ever it imprints on as a form of safe mode reset, however in the process much of the gems former personality and form are lost and whatever is left is a fraction of the original. It would account for how much of the gems seen thus far are based on animals. If this is true, it may be possible that Lion is a corrupted Rose Quartz who the gems think have turned into Steven. But steven is a legitimate human gem hybrid.

Yes, but Peri is not on the same level as the Diamonds. The more we saw of her, the more we knew she'd be redeemable.

Peridot describes them as flawless beings, so if it's not her just gushing then lots of low-ranked gems also see them as borderline goddesses. I'm pretty sure they also know they're a pretty big deal.
