Is there a good Aquaman origin story? I really want to get into the character, but I don't know what to read.

Read his New 52 run by Geoff Johns.
Ultimate Aquaman

That's not really an origin story, but it IS what got me interested in the guy.

The only reason I even consider Aquaman a hero
Also probably not an "Origin" story but still good.

Closest thing for the New 52 Aquaman is the #0 issue in Johns' run.
There is Time and Tide by Peter David, which is a great story (as the entirety of David's run, which I highly recommend), but the previous version of the character had its origin slightly altered (he wasn't half-Atlantean but full, he was basically underwater Superman, New 52 returned to the original concept).

I don't care about the new 52 or old verse. So long as it's a good telling of Aquaman's origin.

>original concept
well not entirely original in his first apperance he was a full human who found the ruins of atlantis with his father and got his powers from there old books

This isn't really an origin story though. He'd already been Aquaman and king of Atlantis for awhile when this happened.
Now that I'm a huge Aquaman fan, I really want to rewatch this whole episode though.
