The main reason people become youtube animators is because they lack either the real talent, drive, or personal skills it takes to actually be an animator with a job. This is why practically every animator on youtube makes practically fucking nothing. They make enough to be able to show off, gain some dicksucking fans, but then leave it at that. Maybe another cartoon once they feel they need more of an ego boost. Also they don't have any fucking ideas of their own. So we get parodies. Endless parodies. Or animated Game Grumps audioclips. In the rare occasion that a youtube animator makes something "original" it almost always relies on shock humour or silly facial expressions because these worthless shitbags couldn't write and pull off an actual joke if their lives depended on it.

I've thought of making animations, hell, I even did one on my old computer, but I realized that it would take me hours to get a decent 10 second clip, and I could spend months on a 10 minute video, then release it and people would still call it shit. Of course, they would have to see it first, because it would be buried under the countless other animation channels.

I think I'll just stick to voice acting. Anyone have any tips on how to git gud at that? I already have a Yeti mic and I just bought a pop filter that's coming in the mail.

Man I miss being able to make a living just animating on youtube. Pre 2012 I had 0 problems being able to do that as my animations got millions of views. Then poof, CPM change came due to reply girls abuse of short videos for views and everything changed to watch time.

Letsplays/liveblogs that are long got boosted hard and all the short content got absolutely ass raped.

Right now 2 million views for animation that has 100% watch time but is just a minute long earns about $650.
