Pages 1 and 2 of my comic project, currently untitled.
I made a post way back about the scanner I was using, and after a few runs I think I got the hang of it, so it's not as bad as I said it was, but it turned out to be frustrating.

I'm actually not too pleased with the text boxes and their placement, except for the last block. So I'm really open to suggestions on that. I also don't mind drawing more panels if you really think it would be an improvement.
The panel about "TV," I really have no idea what to put in there.

I did do a natural-selection-is-retarded-circular-logic joke once, but it was more the kind of thing Scott Adams would write, just for absurdity. The thing in question was a hole in a rock face, which was talked into enlarging by explaining that it was beneficial to rock holes to naturally increase in size so that larger creatures could burrow into them and continue enlarging them, and reproducing new holes by gouging them out.. or something like that. I think panel 4 could do with the composition being flipped. The shout of "There's one!" should be the first thing we see as it's an immediate follow on to "...ever findi--" in panel 3. Then we get the gag of seeing how goofy looking the fairy actually is. I'd guide the view of the reader from bottom left to upper right, starting with the exclamation which could even be connected to the last speech balloon in panel 3.
In panel 1 we're seeing the demon on the left and Kevin on the right from behind. But in panel 4 we're seeing them from the front and they're still in those relative positions.
Obviously, redrawing an already completed panel is going to be highly annoying, so that's just my thoughts for future consideration.

Having an interesting (to me at least) little situation. As I was coloring, I turned off the layer with all the colors and thought it may be a better idea to have the dream panels in black and white with maybe some screen tones since the dream is a shojo parody type thing.

It's a business decision. They have a specific idea for the brand/image/identity they want as a publishing site and, with the exception of comics that were already very popular before joining Hiveworks, any new comics they're going to be on the lookout for should fit that style.

This is just like the Oni Press submissions from last year. People on /co/ were complaining about their strict guidelines and it's like, they want their company to be perceived as a company that does this specific thing and that generally has comics with a specific feel, because they believe they can make a lot of money off of it.

It's why I'm not taking my own Hiveworks rejection personally. My comic doesn't fit that image Hiveworks is searching for right now. I respect them for having a feel in mind and relentlessly pursuing it. That's what every comic-related entity, be it a publisher or a creator, should strive for.
