I think Korrasami was pandering but not because it was gay but because fans wanted the couple and I'm also not sure pandering is necessarily bad. You can give fans what they want sometimes.

I also think a lot of people who argue about wanting representation have just wanted their specific ship to happen, not really to be progressive though they say that.

Not so much but everytime I see a gay couple in a cartoon and said gay couple does nothing for the plot or structure of the story whatsoever and reeks of being there just so people can point at it and see "SEE!? ITS PROGRESSIVE!".

For exmaple, in GF the cops are gay... okay? the show its over and what does that even do for the story? In Legend of Korra, Asami x Korra happening at the last second when their "relationship" never affected the show at all, it was just put there so people talked about it.

Those are the kind of examples that annoy me, is not them wanting to tell an actual story of a gay couple, is just them doing it for the sake of doing it, shove it in the background and have people talk about it.

Considering that a lot of the currently popular airing cartoons are rather comfy in their own right, it's average in the overall comfiness, but that's a high average. What Star vs. has going for it that sets it apart from those other considerably comfy shows is the fantastic dynamic between the main characters and the unique imaginative influence of the creator on the show. Did anyone see this twist coming before the premiere? Not the specific design of the wand; just that the stuff next to the broken crystal would turn out to be important too.

Kind of cool how the rock and the bone are right there, literally alongside the crystal, but a lot of people (or at least me) just thought they were background stuff and focused on the star. I even remember some jokes about the bone along the lines of "who died there?" but can't remember any comments on the rock thing.

Also I really like how one end of the bone resembles the heart-shaped wand charger. Good premiere.

I can safely say that I didn't see that coming. I was a lot like you in that I just focused in on the crystal.

What I really like about the design of the new wand is that it looks complete. There's no room for another half of the crystal, it is what it is. Star's wand looks like it could go either way, repaired or even more broken. I don't know if the writers are going to do anything with that but it could lead to interesting things.
