Does it count if I didn't really pay attention to the dialogue and mostly looked at it for the art and attempted as a child to understand how to draw form and movement from them? I really paid more attention to the Sonic comics, since they were more my speed. I never knew who anyone was in the Spider-Man comics during the '90s because they were doing that "collect 18 single issues of 6 different series to get the full story" thing. Also, the holo-foil covers and Scarlet Spider's design got my attention at 6 and 7 years old.

I loved Steven Universe but Im losing hope for the future, it feels like the show has no real direction and with the time we have to wait to get new content this becomes a big problem for me. Even tho we are gonna get new episodes for 20 days straight I just think about what will happen after that. 6 months of hiatus? a year? and the last episodes just moved around the main plot without advancing it at all and we had to wait so much time for just 4 episodes. Nothing wrong there, Wade's humor is primarily referential, self-deprecating or visual. Peter tends to rely on witticism and sarcasm self deprecation was introduced to his modern set but it's never quite seemed genuine or worthwhile, he also sometimes shares some referential humor with people he's close with such as calling Daredevil Mr.Magoo but that comes and goes with the writer which are things that are usually easier for any audience to pick up on and/or appreciate.

The most important thing to remember is Peter jokes to calm him or distract his opponent so it can have a similar effect on the reader amusing them, Wade jokes to distract his opponent and himself from the endless agony his full body cancer creates. So the laughs come and go.
