honestly man, I grew up on Ghostbusters it was a huge hit for kids my age and I'm around the same age as Rolfe, maybe a little older. I had all the toys watched the cartoon every Saturday morning and so on.

the movie could star the original cast be written by the original screenwriters and be a true continuation of the plot with out it being a retread and I would be apprehensive about it at best.

When you fell in love with the magic of the original, you're not really gonna be interesting in a "re-imagining" that's really just another Hollywood excuse to never make an original film again. and that's putting all the political shit aside. I really don't know why anyone would be interested in this movie. half the fun of the original was that it was mostly unknown actors doing a great job to bring a very original and wacky comedy idea to life.

When it started it was the same as any other negative reception to a remake/reboot. People said they wanted what's left of the original cast or a good passing-of-the-torch movie, not a reboot.
Then both the usual SJW sites and people involved with the film started shouting misogyny.
That pissed everyone off so much that the negativity rose a bunch. Then the trailer came out and looked awful which just made it worse. Then the theme was revealed and that was awful too so people got even more upset.
