Buckle up, amigos. It's time for DOOM PATROL.
Dis Gon Be Gud
>>83870977
Why don't you use the digital rips of these?
>>83871215
You're right, forgot I had them. Give me a sec.
>>83871272
That's better.
>>83871426
What the fuck?
>>83871272
No problem anon. /co/ has been getting great storytimes lately, thanks for continuing that with Doom Patrol!
>>83871456
You ain't see nothing yet
>>83871483
>your voice is like an old black telephone.
Well that's not foreshadowing in the slightest.
>>83871580
>"In the name of god...what is happening."
I wish I could tell you Cliff...I wish I could...
The madness has not even BEGUN
>>83870977
This cover is so weak sauce compared to all the others
>>83871090
I've never been a big Doom Patrol person, but is the Chief supposed to be a disturbing nutter or is it just my opinion shading things he is saying because I saw him portrayed that way once?
>>83871483
>We're not personalities, we're persons
That's what the woman Jane was based on thought as well. Always kind of bugged me thatthe "happy ending" for Jane was full personality merge, when Truddi Chase was always very clear that that was something she didn't want.
>>83871936
Well, it IS Grant Morrison we're talking about. If anyone's going to reinterpret the friendly old eccentric that way...
I have to leave now for work, but I'm setting another issue to dump while I'm out, and when I get back we'll continue.
Glad we have some first timers here, this is the comic that first made me love comics.
>>83871936
He's definitely a bit... intense.
>>83870977
WOOO
O
O
O
>>83870977
How much are you gonna post?
>>83871755
Yay Rhode Island getting a mention!
Oh wait, I don't think in this story that is a good thing...
>>83871863
I know most of the classic Doom Patrol folks, who seem a bit dead or out of commission, who is the black guy though?
>>83872080
Sure, I just didn't know if it was supposed to be his "thing" or just how the Chief was described to me. I just remember my DC friend explaining that he took in crazy super people and sent them on horrible suicide missions to help them cope. But he wasn't really interested in them getting better, or something.
>>83872400
Who is Herr Neimand?
>>83872431
Oh, just nobody
>>83872431
Wait and see. It'll be explained soon.
>>83872473
Oh alright then.
How much are you storytiming OP?
>>83871837
This page is how you can be sure this is a Morrison story
I know Morrison's run is considered the undisputed best run, but are there other good ones? Is Pollack's good? Is Gerard Way, the one doing the new volume, considered good enough to handle the series?
>>83872380
This was weird, but I liked it. Thanks for the storytime
>>83872363
>>83872371
>>83872350
I don't know what the fuck was going on in this story
>>83873936
To be honest with you, i'm not sure Cliff, Jane or Larry/Eleanor/Rebis knew either.
>>83872795
Pollack's is very similar to Morrison's run
Well that was a good read.
First time I read Doom Patrol, a good friend recommended it years ago but I never got around to it. Thanks OP!
>>83870977
Bump
>>83872795
Read the original run by Drake and Premiani. Also read Umbrella Academy to get a taste of Way's writing.
>>83872473
Well played.
>>83872232
love this page
>>83871119
Because that's not as catchy, as Ants-in-my-eyes Cliff Steele.
That was interesting, and a good read.
Thanks OP!
Always wanted to check this out, awesome stuff. Hope OP comes back and dumps the rest of the series, bump to keep this afloat until they return.
I have no idea what the fuck I just read, but I liked it, so thanks, OP.
Sorry for the delay, amigos. Let's get this train back a rolling.
By the way, I definitely plan on doing the whole Morrison run. So if you're busy reading a different storytime right now, don't worry, because it'll take me a while to post the whole thing.
Phone bumping.
More covers with people screaming.
We're getting more meta by the issue, here.
Bump, bump, bump since I don't think people know you're back.
>>83885966
Thank you very much!
Here we have the first of what would eventually become a trademark Vertigo style cover.
We're approaching bump limit I believe, but this train doesn't currently have brakes.
Let's squeeze one more into this thread.
This is such a great issue.
>>83872789
He really was always like this, then?
>>83886634
From day one.
>>83885374
>literally dindu nuffin the character
This goes into the archive, right? So I don't have to be here while the threads are up?
I would love to thank OP for every page he posts but it is a Saturday night after all.
>>83887143
It'll be archived. There'll be links in my subsequent threads.
>>83887245
You're the best, big tex
God dammit I keep forgetting to take my name off in other threads. I don't want to be a namefag!
This is gonna do it for tonight. I'm really glad I gave in and gave my Texas oil money to Chinese moot for a pass because it makes storytimes a billion times easier.
I'll be back Monday for more. Thanks for reading, and if you like what you see, give it a bump so other anons can join the mindfuck!
>>83887371
Thanks, OP! I was hoping we'd make it through issue 29 but I'll just wait until Monday! This was great!
>>83870977
Yes! LOVE this run!
bump for any late night anons this may be a first read
I hope Way's run will be like this
>>83885969
Is this shit about menstruation?
>>83870977
But, but, yes.
What a great idea.
You da man, OP!
>>83893307
Yes. Yes it is.
>>83874514
Except Pollack's run is utter shit bith story and artwise.
>>83884386
Man I love cliff's outfit here. Not sure why, maybe the idea of a robot wearing torn fishnets and steel toed boots.
I'VE NEVER HEARD OF DOOM PATROL BEFORE
THIS IS AWESOME
IS IT ALL THIS GODLIKE
>>83884800
I love you OP, this is incredible.
>>83884863
>>83884883
Never read this before, but this might be one of my favourite string of pages in a comic book
>>83872036
>Truddi Chase
Oh god that book.
>>83886022
Struggles like hell with making her look properly monkey-faced, She looks almost human sometimes.
>>83885355
The art in this issue was amazing
>>83884386
So... is Cliff gay or is this just the '80's?
>>83884521
Policeman smell different from other people when burned?
>>83870977
>Cliff Struggles to make sense of the plot of this issue.jpg
This was great, OP. Thank you.
