Maybe you haven't been here long enough. Old /co/ user base has moved on, the show's quality has degraded, mods and policy changes push out certain fandoms. But FoP once had regular and active threads here. It's just that discussion has gotten stale and oftentimes toxic.
There are still people with good memories of the show, I would even consider myself one of them. There just isn't much new worth discussion. Even the comics being posted here are all at least 5 years old.

Mostly this. I remember the old threads. Good times mostly, minus a few persistent faggots constantly having the same shipping arguments. Even then, it never got that serious. A number of bad things happened at once, the live action, Sparky, poor moderation resulting in many long time contributors banned, effectively killed the fan base.
Every once while you get threads like these, but they are shells of them former selves. The one new picture I saw in here was deleted for some reason and it wasn't even lewd.

For me, they generally learned from most of the mistakes of last season. Cosmo and Wanda act like a couple again, Timmy is nicer, Chloe means he has an actual kid to interact with, she's actually usable in plots without it being shoehorned (Sparky's biggest problem), Timmy's Dad doesnt suck anymore, the season is even increasing continuity.
I started in Oh Yeah Cartoons and I genuinely enjoy most of what's been done this season.

There was one really good one I read about Timmy having a deep talk with Trixie about how much she missed Timantha, and there being an addendum added to Da Rules so that "can't break up true love" also includes true friendship, so Timmy was set to have his life modified so that he was permanently Timantha now. It was extremely well-written, unfortunately it only goes as far as the first chapter, and it seemed like judging by the date the author has probably abandoned it. The trouble with fanfiction is indeed finding ones that are good. I've read and sifted through many fics to find the keepers.(Ugh, so many blue-balls Pinecest fics, and so many other cartoon unfinished fics.)
There are other good pieces out there, and if you have a particular fandom, find a forum or sensible seeming group and ask them for fanfic recommendations. Alternatively you can check out the TV-Tropes page of recommended fics. They aren't always great but can be sometimes. Also if you find there are authors you like, check out the fics THEY favorite and recommend.

Besides what >>83876903 said, creative liberties isn't always in the control for the fans to contribute in, as a business standard it's all for the original creator and his/her team to make the show what it is, not the fans. A team may do some things in regard to their show (e.g, fans enjoying x character a lot, thus more content involving them that suits the author's vision can be managed into the show), but each show is hard coded into what it is far before anyone sees them, and overall, fans may not ever care about x character of said show to garner any extra screen time/development in the first place (aka, Trixie and even Tootie). It's clear Butch has a clear agenda of how he wanted his shows to work, FOP, DP, and even T.U.F.F Puppy. It's basically like how most creators are about their products, even Sakurai shares some of that for Smash Bros.
tl;dr Just because fans like some things now or then, it doesn't make a difference to how the show's direction will transpire in the long run, for better or worse. With that, it's up to the fans to make something up for it, fan art/fiction/etc. And I heavily support fans giving their support to something they like.

Also, a show like Fairly Oddparents is not a good one to listen to the fans about.
It's not like Spongebob where it's more or less universally accepted that Mid season 5 to season 8 is completely unwatchable.
It's more like The Simpsons where everyone has a different idea of what the show being good is. It's had 11 seasons and has been good and bad many times and in many different ways.
The last "good season" is anywhere between Season 3 and 10. Poof coming either made the show stop being stagnant or ruined it. Timmy has been an asshole, really nice, incredibly competent or useless, and all of those have happened in both good and bad episodes. Character focus shifts every season because the show has so many. People leave the show and come back several seasons later. Both talking fans and in-show characters.
Hell, Ive seen people who's favourite Season is fucking Season 9. There's no way to listen to the entire fanbase because it's pretty polarized at this point. Listening to them would make this end up like the Sonic Franchise of cartoons.
The only near universal thing I can think of about FoP since season 3 is that Sparky sucked. And even then I know people who want him back.

I was just going to bring that up when I was reading through your post.
It's a good point, at this point, it is what it is, there's no going back to things that don't mean much for the show anymore. Sonic may have a change to "unify" his content in a way that works for one half of the fanbase and another way for the other half, but FOP as far as I know isn't that "devoted" to how the series plays out, mainly because it's not really as story heavy compared to the likes of, e.g, Avatar/LoK.

Yeah. There's no real way to unify the show for the fanbase. (I mean I personally think the new season makes a real good attempt but anyone who misses the Dimmsdale Elementary School characters will still be bummed.) I do think a strength of the show is that it works on lore over story. So it can go back to characters or story elements without having to do it in an ongoing way.
Like, Officer Shallowgrave came back in season 9 after being gone since season 5, and Remy came back for the first time in 10 years.
Still, that's pretty much it. It is what it is right now.

So my guess is you don't like Amy Rose then, correct? I think Tootie has what all "crazed" girls have, passion. Passion to protect the one you find worth protecting. Look at Timmy Turner, what the hell does he have? (inb4 Fairies) To everyone around him, he's a loser that amounts to nothing. So why would Tootie care about him? She's no better. No one cares about her, not even the one she admires at times. If it wasn't for that connection between her and Timmy, she actually might have Fairy God Parents at this point.
I'm pretty sure they made that point for her love for Timmy in the early seasons if I'm not mistaken. This episode itself I thought expressed that connection quite well personally.

Also funny how Wishful Life showed that without Timmy Chester would have fairies. I also think that her love of Timmy is what stopped her from being miserable enough for fairies.

So, that's how it started with the new girl? I've stopped watching FOP once the dog showed up, so I don't really know her origin pertaining the show other than she's now Timmy's best friend and she apparently shares his Fairies to boot.

I think it's been said Tootie finds Timmy to be a "hunk", heroic, and brave. In other words, she sees qualities in him that most others don't recognize. It's likely a combination of Timmy standing up to bullies, like Vicky or Francis, and thus creates a connection between them that is really only apparent to the viewer. Even if Tootie can be overbearing in her crush, it's outweighed greatly by the fact she sees him for more than just a wimpy, selfish boy, and so people ship them due to this positive feedback. I doubt Hartman intended this amount of depth, it's just more of a side effect from every non fairy character looking down upon Timmy, so it's refreshing to have a character that looks up to him.
Chloe seems to be more of a direct rival, and opposite of Timmy. It feels like ever since she joined the show, Timmy lost his heroic traits and just became a pure jackass .

People say this a lot, but I dont really see it. Outside the obligatory "be the hero" that comes with being a new main cast member, I dont really find Timmy to have become more of an asshole or dumbass like people say. Outside the season premiere at least.

Chloe is the STRONK WOMAN that does everything better than Timmy and is now the real hero of the show. Yes she has flaws too but nowhere near the level of incompetence Timmy now shows. That's honestly not a good comparison to use personally. I as said before, Timmy to the world other than to his Fairies, Timmy is a joke. Sonic to his world is a hero that saves the world from total rule by Eggman or chaos by, well, Chaos. The scale of "importance" between the two is unnatural to think about. Although Timmy HAS saved the world many times, one time that people even were aware of, it either is "non canon" or everything is wiped from memory, so no matter the case ," Timmy's just an average kid that no one understands." But that's all you got. In his world, that's all someone has to be in his little world, so a girl liking a "average boy" makes a lot of sense. It's honestly more realistic in some ways. The thing is, Timmy is usually seen as being in the right. He was right that going to Catman was a bad idea, knew that Chloe's sharing wish would backfire, was gonna give up his fairies for his dad and such. In Birthday Battle they were both brats and in the Squirrely Scout one Timmy was never incapable of doing the camping stuff.

For the second question, it really depends. It's best you just give it a shot. If you're not a fan of the premiere try the generally considered better second episode.
But for me, definitely. Season 10 has been pretty good. A lot of people seem to be enjoying it as well from what Ive seen on other sites.
