Long time /hst/, it's the spreadsheet test anon here. I took a break from browsing these threads as things were moving slowly, and in that time I've managed to get a good few people from real life and other parts of the internet to do the test. The feedback has been useful and so I present you version 6. This time, I've managed to stop being retarded and have figured out how to just share the test via google docs.

I did a bit of desustorage browsing today and learnt about the web porting of the test incidentally. To the anon who went to that effort, you're a top dude. I think you might've used an old, buggy version of the test (where the genderswitch was borked, for instance) but I'm not sure. That and other problems are resolved in this version regardless.

I tried reading it years ago but I had to stop because I didn't speak proper english at the time and I was getting completely lost

So I went to re-read it about a couple of months ago
It was all swell and nice until [S]Cascade happened
The comic had lost every usage of videogame references and terms that made it charming and just introduced dozens of characters that I couldn't give a shit about because they weren't interesting in the least

I can't believe At The Price of Oblivion was almost completely wasted. That was a really good track, there was even a fight that happened, but got copped out on. Even in the grand scheme of everything Jack-related becoming irrelevant, grimdark Rose was rendered the most wasted fucking thing in the comic.

In the eventual cartoon adaptation which Hussie will not bother to exercise any of his authorial control over, literally any other writer will make that fight happen. I can't wait.

The problem with that interpretation is that a joke has a specific construction, it has a setup then a payoff, simple stuff. The problem being that the alpha session's shipping bullshit had no payoff at all, but it dragged the comic down along side other notable issues with Act 6. It's hard to give any credit to the idea that Hussie was intentionally making fun of the concept when it un-ironically made the comic worse as a result, it's like praising the shooting prowess of someone who shot themselves in the foot.

A similar parallel can be drawn with the whole Vriska mary-sue issue, yes it makes sense given the themes of her Classpect, but it massively tanks the story in doing so which is a net loss no matter how you look at it.

i think mages are a counterpart to seers. seers know a lot about their aspect, and share that knowledge with others. mages receive knowledge from their aspect, and lead others by their example or away from the negatives of their aspect. they also seem destined to be negatively affected by their aspect to a point, but never totally. so a mage of doom (sollux) dies a lot, yet never truly (he's only half dead and can leave dream bubbles at will)

mages are probably the most likely class to get horrorterrors whispering into their mind. so pretty much 4chan
