I have this strange fear that they might be getting Starco... "out of the way," by having whatever this smooch buddy stuff is by season 2. What if the fact that they mentioned it as something as comical as "smooch buddies" and didn't build up anything towards it or depict it as seriously built up before means they're planning to just get it done and out of the way so they can focus on othe relations in later seasons?

If you waited a few frames after on that top screencap, you can also see donuts that Marco's blocking out. So yeah there's really no doubt she's in a police station.

I also noticed outside the door it shows that it's obviously nighttime. So I'm going to assume it's suggesting they've been away for basically the entire day from eachother and... something, happened obviously.

Well obviously there's a ton of episodes thrown in the mix as I sincerely doubt you can throw every clip shown into a single, coherent episode.

I think the whole "on the lips" thing is definitely not something they'd just casually expose, as Starco is obviously understood to be a huge, huge part of the show. On the other hand, something that out of context is also similarly able to drag someone like Tom into the mix. Maybe it's not a "Tom scene first, "on the lips" scene after" but vice versa, if the two parts are related.

Back in the day I had a script that allowed for co-op techs in battle but i lost it alongside nearly everything else I had in the great PC explosion of 2010.

Seeing all the different poses and expressions for Star, I easily imagined a comparable amount for Janna.

But Jackie...? I somehow cant picture many and as wild as the Star ones, you imagine Jackie being a challenge to do expresions for, FC?

Actually there's a lot of examples of facial expressions for Jackie in the series: in "Matchmaker" alone there's instances of surprise, satisfaction, happiness, disappointment, frustration. Maybe Jackie has not too many lines, but she's very expressive.

…On the other hand, I feel Janna has a somewhat smaller range, in canon — or maybe I mostly notice variations on the same smug expression she has as a default.

Though I must confess that, aside from the "DO IT" pose (still, thank you Bluejr) I didn't use still from the series as inspiration — and that was really bad from me, because it would've made my drawings more consistent with canon! Oh well, at least I corrected some of the most glaring errors.

I think there's instances of Jackie and Hope too, maybe others. I think it's a trick to maintain the expressions — the same reason Marco's eyebrows are visible through his hair.
Also, it suggests that the bangs are thin, and you can partially see through them.

I don't know about Sabco moments, but for good or for worse, if Brittney has new appearances in the show, Sabrina will surely be in there too — as a recurring gag character, sure, but odds are that at least once or twice she may interact with Marco. Fuck knows as it stands, there's any number of ways it could be taken. I'd find it odd if they dropped something as huge as a Starco confirmation before season 2 even starts. It feels like the kind of catch that they'd elude to in order to draw more people in, the old 'will they? won't they?' which doesn't exactly work if you drop it right in a trailer. Although you could aruge people would watch to see how it happens, but I'm skeptical.

Then there's the opposite way of taking it, by being so upfront about it there's likely something else going on and the shock factor is the intended takeaway. So something like mind control or some other shenanigan to explain it away. Either way it'll be interesting to see what the actual case is, I'm hoping we get another trailer soon, better late than never as they say.

Fun Fact, I'm not having a good morning. I remembered my printer has a scan function. So I'm like "Oh boy no more shit quality phone pics." Then it doesn't work. Then it forcibly restarts my computer while I'm getting ready to comment in this thread with responses to a few things. It tells me to save and work then click finish, but it was a lie. I just had to sit here as it wouldn't let me click out the window. After the restart, the scan did work. It came out horrible though. So I just went back to using my phone. All that time and effort, wasted. For literally nothing.

the possibilities

1. Tom mind-controlling Marco to get him into trouble
2. Tom shapeshifted into Marco impersonating him to get into trouble
3. "smooch" is slang for something weird and it's a running misunderstanding gag in the episode
4. poz possibility: They did smooch, but they really are just 'buddies' and it's an extended metaphor for the show encouraging fuck buddies
5. Worst ending: Those are just the lines for the trailer, not for the actual episode

Even if it's a ruse there's always that moment before the end of "pretending to be lovers episode" where they have to actually go ahead and smooch in front of someone or risk being found out.
